The PositionAs a Scientist in Pharmaceutical Development, you are part of the Department “Pharmaceutical Development” in Pharma Technical Development (PTD) in Basel, Switzerland. The department Pharmaceutical Development is responsible for the development of parenteral drug products (Synthetic molecules and Biologics) from Phase 1 through market Launch. Activities encompass formulation and manufacturing process development for parenteral drug products for all clinical stages and the market launch, the transfer of product and process to commercial manufacturing sites, commercial product support and line extension development. You will balance technical rigor in formulation and process development with an exploratory mindset, driving innovation in parenteral modalities, including Oligonucleotides and complex synthetic molecules. The Opportunity Lead the end-to-end development of parenteral formulations—including liquid and lyophilized dosage forms—and establish robust manufacturing processes from scale-up and characterization to commercial transfer. Represent Pharmaceutical Development as a project leader in global CMC and cross-functional teams, providing critical technical expertise and strategic input for regulatory submissions (BLA/MAA/NDA) throughout all clinical stages. Actively apply creative, open-minded approaches to overcome unfavorable molecular properties. Serve as a key lab partner to Postdocs and Scientists to test and validate exploratory formulation concepts and new therapeutic modalities. Manage and support analytical method scouting, analytical understanding and implementation capabilities in our routine. Who you areYou hold a Ph.D. or master degree in chemistry, chemical/process engineering or related fields and bring a minimum of 2 years of professional experience (industry) in formulation and process development DP manufacturing related fields of parenteral dosage forms. Eagerness to Learn & Grow: Strong intrinsic motivation to master new therapeutic modalities, specifically building a deep technical footprint in Oligonucleotide formulation and analytical-formulation loops. Technical Agility & Curiosity: Comfort in or a strong motivation to acquire knowledge and advance in unfamiliar fields, particularly digital domains. A natural inclination to challenge the status quo and show curiosity. Collaboration & Communication: Outstanding team player with highly developed interpersonal skills.
