Career CategoryEngineeringJob DescriptionThe Associate Software Engineer, MuleSoft is responsible for designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting MuleSoft-based APIs and integrations that enable business-critical processes across enterprise platforms. This role combines application development and production support responsibilities, ensuring the reliability, performance, compliance, and continuous improvement of GxP-regulated integration solutions. The analyst will work closely with product teams, business stakeholders, architects, quality teams, and support organizations to deliver scalable integration solutions while maintaining operational excellence. The role requires a strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), CI/CD pipelines, release management processes, monitoring tools, and incident/problem management practices. Roles & Responsibilities • Design, develop, test, and maintain APIs and integrations using the MuleSoft Anypoint Platform in accordance with enterprise architecture and development standards. • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, unit testing, deployment, validation, and post-production support. • Develop scalable and reusable integration solutions utilizing REST APIs, JSON, XML, DataWeave, and enterprise integration patterns. • Support GxP-regulated applications by adhering to compliance, validation, documentation, and audit requirements. • Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and middleware issues across development, test, validation, and production environments. • Monitor API health, integration performance, logs, and system alerts, proactively identifying and resolving operational issues. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, product owners, QA, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and platform teams, to deliver reliable integration solutions. • Participate in incident, problem, and change management activities, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and preventive measures. • Contribute to deployment activities using CI/CD pipelines and support automated build, test, and release processes. • Understand and work with source code repositories, branching strategies, version control, deployment automation, and environment management. • Support release planning, implementation, validation testing, and post-deployment verification activities. • Create and maintain technical documentation, support procedures, operational runbooks, and knowledge articles. • Follow secure development, validation, and deployment practices aligned with Amgen's SDLC, cybersecurity, and quality standards. • Provide ongoing application maintenance, operational support, and continuous improvement recommendations to enhance system stability and performance. Basic Qualifications and Experience • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. • 3 to 6 years of experience in software development, integration technologies, application support, or related technical roles. • Experience supporting enterprise applications in regulated environments is preferred. Functional Skills Must-Have Skills • Hands-on experience in MuleSoft API development and integration solutions using Anypoint Platform. • Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, JSON, XML, DataWeave, and API-led connectivity principles. • Experience troubleshooting and resolving application and integration issues across multiple environments. • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and release management processes. • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts, deployment pipelines, source code management, and version control systems such as Git. • Experience working with log analysis, monitoring tools, and operational support processes. • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. • Understanding of GxP compliance requirements, change management, validation, and documentation practices within regulated environments. Good-to-Have Skills • Experience with MuleSoft CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, API Manager, Exchange, Anypoint Monitoring, and related platform capabilities. • Working knowledge of Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other CI/CD automation tools. • Experience with Java, SQL, Python, or scripting languages used for integration development and automation. • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Understanding of ServiceNow processes, incident management, problem management, and change management workflows. • Experience supporting validated GxP applications within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, or regulated industries. • Knowledge of integration patterns involving ERP, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Data & Analytics, or other enterprise platforms. Professional Certifications (Preferred) • MuleSoft Certified Developer – Level 1 (Preferred) • MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect (Preferred) • Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or equivalent cloud certification (Preferred) • ITIL Foundation Certification (Preferred) Soft Skills • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills. • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with technical and business stakeholders. • Ability to work effectively in global, cross-functional, and virtual teams. • Strong ownership mindset with a focus on service reliability, quality, and customer satisfaction. • High degree of initiative, self-motivation, and continuous learning. • Ability to manage multiple priorities, incidents, enhancements, and project deliverables simultaneously. • Team-oriented approach with a commitment to collaboration and knowledge sharing. • Strong documentation, presentation, and stakeholder communication skills. • Flexibility and willingness to continuously learn, adapt, and contribute across evolving technologies, platforms, and business domains. .
