As a Software Cloud Engineer within PCS organization, you will be involved in developing the software ecosystem supporting Medtronic implantable cardiac devices and will operate in all phases and contribute to all activities of the software development process. Medtronic PCS teams develop the next generation medical technologies that save lives, improve quality of living for millions of patients across the world. The team works with various software technologies in application software, network software, mobile software, BT/BLE communication software, and interfacing with embedded software for management and control of implantable medical devices. The team is seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and highly skilled software development engineer to lead the charge in building the next generation of CRM solutions. This role demands innovative thinking, a strong background in cloud-based software development, and a passion for creating robust, scalable systems that drive exceptional user experiences. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and development of cutting-edge PCS software, collaborating with cross-functional global teams to deliver impactful solutions. A Day in the LifeContribute to the development and operation of shared engineering platforms and services. Build and maintain automation that improves developer productivity, operational efficiency, and platform reliability. Support software delivery, infrastructure, data, security, and engineering enablement initiatives. Independently implement, test, deploy, and support defined platform capabilities with general supervision. Participate in technical design discussions and contribute practical recommendations within the assigned area. Troubleshoot technical issues, identify root causes, and recommend improvements to systems and engineering processes. Develop reusable solutions, tools, documentation, and runbooks that simplify engineering workflows. Collaborate with software engineers, architects, security specialists, data professionals, and infrastructure teams to meet project objectives. Apply engineering practices related to software development, automation, cloud computing, security, reliability, and operational excellence. Contribute to project milestones, cross-functional assignments, and initiatives that improve the experience of engineers using shared platforms and services. Provide guidance and assistance to entry-level engineers when appropriate. Key Skills & ExperienceMust Have: Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree. Experience creating or maintaining repeatable infrastructure and configuration through technologies such as Terraform, Helm, or comparable tools. Experience applying monitoring, logging, observability as code and other observability practices using technologies such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, OpenTelemetry, or comparable tools. A collaborative mindset. You are energized by fast-paced environments, proactive communication, and working closely with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated experience owning your work and getting stuff done. Excitement, passion and curiosity about our mission of connecting the world’s health data and improving patient outcomes. Preferred QualificationsExperience or familiarity with one or more of the following will provide a strong foundation for success: Cloud platforms and infrastructure services. Software development using a modern programming or scripting language. Source control, automated testing, and continuous integration or delivery practices. Containerization and modern application platforms. Infrastructure automation and configuration management. Data processing, event streaming, databases, or distributed systems. Observability, monitoring, and operational support practices. Security, quality, and compliance tooling integrated into engineering workflows. Developer productivity, self-service platforms, or engineering enablement solutions.
