Find out more: Our approach to R&D Position Summary You will lead Omics Technologies across discovery and early development in Germany. You will shape strategy for genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and single-cell approaches. You will work closely with discovery, translational science, bioinformatics and external partners to deliver reliable data that drives decisions. Responsibilities This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career. These responsibilities include some of the following: - Define and deliver an integrated omics strategy supporting target discovery and early development. - Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team to design, run and quality-assure omics experiments and workflows. - Select, validate and operationalise omics platforms, sample handling and laboratory automation. - Partner with bioinformatics, clinical and translational teams to ensure robust data generation and interpretation. - Manage external providers, technology vendors and contract research organisations to meet timelines and quality. - Represent the function externally and form scientific partnerships with academia and industry. Basic Qualification We are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals: - Advanced degree (PhD, MD or equivalent) in molecular biology, genomics, proteomics or related field. - At least 10 years of experience leading omics teams or functions in pharma, biotech or large research organisations. - Direct hands-on experience with genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics or metabolomics laboratory workflows. - Experience working in cross-functional and matrix teams across discovery and early development. - Proven vendor and CRO management experience for complex laboratory studies. - Strong commitment to data quality, reproducibility, lab safety and regulatory standards. Preferred Qualification If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: - Experience with single-cell and spatial omics technologies and associated sample workflows. - Familiarity with sequencing platforms, mass spectrometry and laboratory automation systems. - Knowledge of data standards, metadata capture and sample provenance best practices. - Track record building high-performing teams and developing scientific talent. - Experience with clinical sample logistics and handling of patient-derived materials. - Publications or active participation in external scientific forums in relevant fields. These ranges take into account a number of factors including the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position may offer an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
