Job Function: R&D Product Development Job Sub Function: R&D Software/Systems Engineering Job Category: Scientific/Technology All Job Posting Locations: Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India Job Description: Job DescriptionThe Senior Analyst/Application Developer for R&D Technology is responsible for developing and delivering solutions that support next-generation R&D capabilities across small molecules, peptides and oligonucleotides. This role translates scientific and business needs into scalable application solutions, building UIs, lab automations, integrations and digital platforms that accelerate DMTA cycles and enable high-quality decision-making. Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development & IntegrationDesign, develop and maintain modern web applications Build and support integrations across core business lab systems Implement RESTful APIs and microservices to connect front-end applications with backend systems Collaborate with architects and technical leads to implement technical designs and patterns Contribute production code following modern engineering practices and coding standards Frontend & Full-Stack EngineeringBuild component-based applications Implement state management solutions and optimize application performance Expand and maintain UI component libraries and design system implementations Write comprehensive unit, integration and end-to-end tests for front-end code Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards System Integration & Data ManagementDevelop integrations with lab systems and automation platforms Work with cloud-native platforms and technologies (AWS, Lambda, Docker) Implement data visualization and reporting features for scientific data Support API design, development and documentation Handle data modeling for application requirements and ensure data integrity Engineering Practices & QualityParticipate in CI/CD pipeline development and automation Write automated tests and align with quality engineering practices Support observability and monitoring of production applications Create and keep up to date documentation Use AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Kiro, Claude Code) to improve productivity Follow security, privacy and data governance standards in application development Collaboration & SupportWork closely with product managers, UX designers and scientists to understand requirements Collaborate with multi-functional teams including data engineers, architects and QA Provide technical support for deployed applications Participate in agile development practices Support validation activities and change control processes for regulated environments QualificationsRequired2-5+ years of software development experience Proficiency in React and TypeScript Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and responsive design principles Experience with RESTful API development and integration Proficiency in Python for backend services, scripting, or data processing Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (S3, Lambda, API Gateway) Understanding of database design and SQL Experience with Git version control and collaborative development workflows Experience with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library, pytest) Understanding of CI/CD concepts and deployment practices Ability to translate business and scientific requirements into technical solutions Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Experience working in agile/scrum development environments PreferredExperience with Docker and containerization Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems Understanding of AWS services beyond basics (Step Functions, EventBridge, DynamoDB) Knowledge of GxP or regulated system requirements Understanding of OAuth2/OIDC and security best practices Knowledge of SDLC methodologies and software validation practices Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
