Ensures adherence to agreed PM guidelines and operation standards on behalf of PMO Head or PMO Manager.Job Description The Pre-Sales Software Planner partners with Sales, Service, and Project Management teams and engages Varian customers in a pre-sales capacity to establish requirements and expectations, ensure project and quote readiness, and develop project-specific deliverables outlining requirements, responsibilities, implementation options, and high-level timelines. Role & Responsibilities The Pre-Sales Software Solution Architect serves as a trusted technical advisor throughout the pre-sales process, partnering with Sales, and Service to define project scope, develop proposals, and ensure implementation readiness. This role regularly engages both clinical and Hospital IT stakeholders to align technical requirements, project objectives, and deployment strategies. Key responsibilities include: 1. Analyze complex technical and business requirements to develop effective implementation strategies. 2. Leverage knowledge of the Varian product portfolio, software offerings, pricing structures, and Salesforce (Unity) processes to support opportunity development. 3. Independently manage planning requests, following established software planning methodologies, templates, and governance processes. 4. Develop System Topology Diagrams and infrastructure documentation using Visio to support IIP and customer deliverables. 5. Assess and recommend cloud, virtualized, and on-premises infrastructure solutions. 6. Collaborate with regional and global stakeholders as a technical resource for complex implementation planning activities. 7. Lead infrastructure and solution design discussions with stakeholders ranging from technical teams to CIOs and executive leadership. 8. Build trusted customer relationships through consistent delivery, technical expertise, and expectation management. 9. Perform Quote QA activities, validating technical scope, customer requirements, and solution readiness. What Is Needed to Succeed 1. Partner effectively with Sales teams to position software solutions that maximize customer satisfaction while minimizing operational and clinical disruption. 2. Ensure successful project execution through effective coordination, documentation handoff, and knowledge transfer to Project Management and Installation teams. 3. Demonstrate strong communication, stakeholder management, and customer-facing consulting skills. 4. Balance technical expertise with business acumen to support customer decision-making and project success. Education & Experience 1. Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, and/or 3–5 years of relevant experience. 2. Experience assessing customer environments, validating infrastructure readiness, and developing implementation plans for enterprise software solutions. 3. Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including servers, networking, virtualization, storage, backup, cloud platforms, and high-availability architectures. 4. Experience creating technical documentation, infrastructure diagrams, deployment procedures, and implementation deliverables. 5. Ability to lead technical discussions and coordinate activities across infrastructure teams, application owners, project teams, and business stakeholders. 6. Experience gathering requirements, defining solution scope, and supporting customer-facing planning engagements. 7. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Project, Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Preferred Qualifications 1. Experience within oncology service lines and familiarity with Varian products and workflows. 2. Experience with cloud platforms, virtualized server environments, and enterprise software deployments. 3. Database and interface integration experience. 4.
