This position reports to: R2R Manager CH & HQ __ Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will have the opportunity to provide accounting, reporting, and consolidation expertise. Each day, you will support in accounting and reporting matters to business/reporting units through resolution of accounting and reporting questions, financial statement preparation and review follow-up on accounting issues. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting in the preparation of financial reports in compliance with internal guidelines, procedures, and external regulatory requirements. You will be the business process owner of the local R2R process and the main speaking partner for internal and external auditors. The work model for the role is: hybrid This role is contributing to the MO Finance CoE and Front Office / Motion Finance in Baden, Switzerland. Main stakeholders are Company Controllers, Group Reporting and financial Managers. You will be mainly accountable for: Manage and ensure the accuracy of general accounting activities, including pension and lease accounting, supporting reliable financial reporting and transparency. Act as the local Record-to-Report (R2R) Business Process Owner, driving effective internal controls, supporting testing activities, and fostering cross-functional collaboration across diverse teams. Ensure compliance with US GAAP, Swiss GAAP, and ABB policies, performing quality reviews, analyzing financial data, and partnering with internal and external auditors to maintain high reporting standards. Investigate, reconcile, and resolve accounting and reporting matters, working closely with stakeholders from different functions and backgrounds to identify solutions and support continuous improvement. You will join a small, experienced, and dynamic team that is always committed to providing the best services to our internal customers. Qualifications for the role Proven experience in Finance and Accounting, with a strong background in General Accounting, Financial Reporting and/or process improvement initiatives. Strong knowledge of internal controls and governance requirements, ideally within the Record-to-Report (R2R) process. Solid experience working with SAP FI/CO; knowledge of Hyperion and SAP BW is an advantage. Advanced Excel skills and a data-driven approach to financial analysis and reporting. Sound understanding of Swiss GAAP and US GAAP accounting standards. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured, accurate and quality-focused way of working. Degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or a related field, and/or a recognized professional qualification in Finance and Accounting. Fluency in German and English, with the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with diverse stakeholders in an international environment.
