Job Description Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As an Associate Director in GDSI Oncology Integrated Insights, you will support the Breast & Gyn franchise through forecasting, analytics, and market research. This role serves as a key partner to the Integrated Insights Directors responsible for Breast & Gyn-related indications including TNBC, HR+/HER2- breast cancer, and Endometrial Cancer as well as select additional indications such as SCLC, helping deliver the insights, forecasts, and strategic analytics needed to support commercial decision making across the franchise. Based on business needs, the role may also support additional indications, lifecycle opportunities, and strategic planning efforts. The Associate Director will contribute to the development and maintenance of long-range forecasts, annual planning processes, ATUs, chart audit analyses, affiliate engagement, and ongoing business performance assessments. The position will work closely with Global Strategic Marketing, Regional and Affiliate Analytics & Insights teams, Finance, Competitive Intelligence, Pricing & Market Access, and other cross-functional stakeholders to ensure robust, insight-driven decision making. The role is located in Foster City, CA (hybrid) and will report to the Senior Director, Oncology Global Decision Sciences & Insights, Breast & Gyn Franchise. Essential Duties & Functions The following duties and functions represent the core responsibilities of the role, with primary emphasis on supporting commercialized and late-stage Breast & Gyn (and select indication) franchise assets and indications. Activities require strong cross-functional partnership across GDSI, GSM, Finance, and Affiliate organizations. Forecasting & Analytics Support development, maintenance, and refinement of global patient-based forecast models for Breast & Gyn-related indications, including TNBC, HR+/HER2-, and Endometrial Cancer as well as SCLC. Lead forecast updates associated with annual planning cycles, Long Range Planning, financial guidance exercises, ATUs, and scenario assessments. Partner with indication leads to evaluate key business drivers including epidemiology, treatment dynamics, competitive events, pricing assumptions, dosing assumptions, duration of therapy, and market evolution. Develop and communicate forecast assumptions and business insights to cross-functional stakeholders, including Commercial, Finance, GSM, and Affiliate teams. Conduct base-case and scenario analyses to evaluate potential business risks, opportunities, and strategic alternatives across the Breast & Gyn franchise. Support affiliate forecasting alignment activities, helping ensure consistency between global assumptions and local market expectations. Monitor commercial performance and market dynamics to identify emerging trends and potential forecast implications. Develop executive-ready analyses and presentations that communicate complex quantitative findings in a clear and actionable manner. Market Research & Commercial Insights Partner with Integrated Insights Directors and GSM teams to identify priority business questions and evidence needs across the Breast & Gyn franchise. Lead or support qualitative and quantitative market research initiatives involving healthcare professionals, patients, and payers. Support ATU planning, execution, and interpretation to monitor brand health, customer perceptions, adoption barriers, and evolving treatment dynamics. Collaborate with affiliates to scope, design, and execute market research studies that inform forecasting assumptions and commercial strategy. Translate research findings into actionable recommendations that support brand strategy, lifecycle management, and evidence-based decision making. Conduct secondary analytics using epidemiology, treatment pattern, chart audit, and commercial performance data sources. Competitive Intelligence & Market Monitoring Utilize chart audits, claims data, prescription data, treatment-flow analyses, and other secondary data sources to assess market dynamics and competitive performance. Determiner commercial ramifications of changes in treatment patterns, patient flow, line-of-therapy dynamics, biomarker-defined segments, and emerging competitive developments. Support development of market assumptions used in forecasting and strategic planning exercises. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to assess commercial implications of key data readouts, regulatory milestones, label changes, and competitor actions. Affiliate & Cross-Functional Engagement Serve as an Integrated Insights partner to affiliate markets, providing forecasting and analytics support across planning cycles and strategic Breast & Gyn franchise initiatives. Facilitate alignment between global and local teams on assumptions, methodologies, and business implications. Support governance processes associated with forecast review, planning cycles, affiliate engagement, and senior management presentations. Build strong working relationships across GSM, Finance, Commercial, Market Access, Medical, Competitive Intelligence, and Affiliate organizations. Knowledge, Experience & Skills Business leadership experience and a track record of influencing without authority, especially with senior cross-functional partners, to resolve ambiguity and drive consensus. Strong leadership acumen demonstrated through effective relationships with stakeholders, peers, and teams. Experience presenting to senior leadership audiences, simplifying complex materials, and managing audiences with differing viewpoints to gain alignment. Experience working in a matrixed organization and partnering effectively across global, regional, and affiliate teams. Ability to meaningfully portray and effectively communicate complex quantitative data in an easy-to-understand format. Experience with pharmaceutical data sources such as IQVIA/IMS, SHA, claims, treatment-pattern data, ATUs, and chart audits. Experience conducting commercial analytics and proactively identifying analyses to address key business questions. Experience conducting qualitative and quantitative market research and patient-based market/revenue modeling. Strong task- and project-management skills, including planning, prioritization, objective setting, and execution. History of navigating multiple projects with tight deadlines and evolving priorities. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Passion for the function and natural curiosity to solve complex commercial and analytical problems.
