Your role and responsibilities: In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your skills by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to align with the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget. The work model for the role is: #Li-Onsite The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power Business to be based at Nelamangala, BANGALORE, India. You will be mainly accountable for: Oversee Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives, identifying innovative ideas and developing them into practical manufacturing solutions. Manage project planning, execution, budgeting, and implementation of Smart Factory projects within defined timelines and priorities. Analyze existing material flow, information flow, operational processes, and factory architecture to design and implement future-ready smart manufacturing systems. Identify key technical requirements across direct and indirect manufacturing processes and develop standardized, automated, and optimized solutions. Plan and facilitate assembly processes, layouts, and assembly line qualification, while effectively managing stakeholders, negotiations, communication, and complex problem-solving. Qualifications for the role: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or related Engineering, with 12–15 years of relevant experience in Automation or Industrial Engineering. Advanced practical knowledge of PLC, SCADA/HMI, Industry 4.0, IoT, and smart factory technologies. Proficiency in industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/IP, RS232/RS485, Ethernet, Profinet, and Profibus, with good knowledge of LAN/Wi-Fi networking. Experience with NI-LabVIEW and programming technologies such as C#/.NET, MVC, WPF, and Python; knowledge of MySQL/MS-SQL or other RDBMS. Working knowledge of CAD tools such as Pro-Engineer/Creo or AutoCAD, along with basic understanding of machine design and fixture development. Working knowledge of Operational Excellence methodologies, including Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Theory of Constraints, Visual Management, and Root Cause Analysis. Extensive problem-solving, project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to guide automation and Smart Factory initiatives from concept through implementation.
