JOB SUMMARY Define and maintain all aspects of the company’s technology strategy for a defined sector. Provides oversight and direction for all related design activity. Responsible for technical evaluation of technologies as part of strategy formulation and in support of business development initiatives. Develops a portfolio of solutions for strategic market applications. Represents the technical face of Jabil to the global sector. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES · Research, evaluate and maintain a catalogue of sector related technologies. · Identify opportunities and technologies that leverage Jabil’s capabilities. · Define technology-based solutions for target markets/applications. · Assess gaps in capabilities from a technical perspective and identify resource requirements. · Formalize strategy and present a quarterly update to the organization. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVES · Evaluate technologies of prospective customers for Jabil fit. · Lead due diligence team for customer/technology acquisition. · Identify and engage potential technology/business partners. · Leverage and expand global water industries based network on behalf of Jabil SERVICE OFFERING · Develop a portfolio of application solutions to supplement customer technologies · Establish and manage a design for X service offering to the customer community · Formulate an offering for federal government and defense bid opportunities DESIGN OVERSIGHT · Define and recruit required resources to support the product development cycle. · Drives lowest cost solutions through phases of development cycle: concept, functional features, system architecture, components, and design process. · Enables standardization of components and sub-assemblies across customer’s systems · Provides technical expertise and guidance to engineering staff · Responsible for developing and documenting high level system architectures and designs · Assures product reliability through implementation of appropriate design/engineering disciplines(DFSS) · Establish design standards applicable to the specific target industry (i.e. ANSI, ASME, AWWA, NSF etc.) OPERATIONS SUPPORT · Establish quality control standards applicable to the target industry (i.e. ISO, U.L.) · Supports supply chain development activities · Provides technical expertise and guidance to workcell members and operational team · Advises on all aspects of operational strategy leveraging experience and knowledge base · Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy. · May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. JOB QUALIFICATIONS KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS · Must be able to demonstrate expertise in a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. · Must have extensive experience in driving solutions in a global business environment related to the specific sector of focus. · A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. · Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and Powerpoint) and e-mail skills required. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS · Bachelor's Degree required. · Degree in Engineering preferred. MSEE or MBA preferred. · 15 years of work-related experience required in a related field, preferably in · 5 years of experience in engineering management role. · Or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience.
