The Compliance Specialist is a mid-level Trade Compliance professional responsible for leading complex origin determination and preference qualification activities across Asia operations. This role leads and manages the cross-border projects operations and serves as a subject matter resource on preferential and non-preferential origin requirements, preparation of documentation, handling export license administration, import duty calculation, support RFQ audits and custom brokerage reviews and updates of regulations from different countries in Asia. Key Responsibilities • Conduct preferential and non-preferential origin determinations. • Preparation of documentation for the COO • Maintain and support Preference Determination processes. •Support export license administration and documentation • Support supply chain audits like AEO, regulatory inquiries, and compliance assessments. • Provide guidance to Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customs stakeholders. • Monitor regulatory developments relating to FTAs and origin rules. • Support import duty calculation • Support import and export custom activities • Support RFQ, review custom brokers and audits •Analyze compliance risks, identify process gaps, and support development and implementation of corrective actions and process improvements. •Support the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of customs and trade compliance procedures, work instructions, internal controls, and compliance documentation. Education Requirements • Regional and global education equivalencies accepted • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Law, Finance, or related discipline. Experience Requirements • 4–9+ years of Trade Compliance, Customs Compliance, International Trade, or Regulatory Affairs experience. • Demonstrated expertise in preferential and non-preferential origin determination. • Experience working in a multinational and matrixed organization preferred. • Experience in export licensing administration • Experience in regulatory across Asia especially Malaysia regulations and customs • Experience supporting audits and compliance reviews. Key Skills and Knowledge • In-depth knowledge of origin determination methodologies with competence in: preferential and non-preferential rules of origin; origin calculations and Bill of Materials analysis; supplier declarations and supporting documentation; issuance and verification of proofs of origin; Advanced understanding of Asean FTA • Advanced understanding of FTAs and customs regulations. • Strong SAP GTS functional knowledge. • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills • Strong knowledge on Malaysia customs and regulations BE AWARE OF FRAUD: When applying for a job at Jabil you will be contacted via correspondence through our official job portal with a jabil.com e-mail address; direct phone call from a member of the Jabil team; or direct e-mail with a jabil.com e-mail address.
