This position reports to: Unit Manager __ Job Summary This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to develop the skills and knowledge required to become a Technical Engineer within a manufacturing environment. You will learn how products are designed, costed and manufactured, while gaining hands-on experience in maintaining Bill of Materials (BOM), routing and master data within the company’s ERP system. Working alongside experienced engineers, you will develop an understanding of manufacturing processes, technical drawings, product structures and production costs. You will also support the quotation team with customer-specific requirements and learn how to develop technical solutions for special and customised products. A key part of the apprenticeship will be learning to use Autodesk Inventor to create accurate 3D models, sales drawings and manufacturing technical drawings, helping to turn customer requirements and product concepts into practical manufacturing solutions. Your Role and Responsibilities In this role, you’ll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact. - Work model: onsite · ERP Master Data Management - Create, maintain, and update BOM and routing data in the ERP system. · Product Structure & Manufacturing - Develop understanding of how products are structured and manufactured. · Cost Analysis & Quotation Support - Learn how materials, labour and manufacturing processes affect costs; support quotation team with cost evaluations. · Technical Design with Autodesk Inventor - Use Autodesk Inventor to create 3D models and technical designs. · Technical Drawings - Produce clear, accurate sales drawings and manufacturing technical drawings. · Customer Requirements Translation - Interpret customer requirements and convert them into appropriate technical designs · Manufacturing Process Alignment - Understand how routing sequences reflect actual manufacturing processes. · Data Quality & Problem Resolution - Work with engineers and production teams to identify and resolve inaccuracies in product and manufacturing data. · Continuous Improvement & Change Management - Identify opportunities to improve BOMs, routings, and processes; capture changes in ERP; collaborate across teams to maintain data accuracy.
