About the RoleRole DescriptionThe Responsible AI Manager sits within the Amgen Responsible AI team in the Artificial Intelligence & Data Science organization and is based in Hyderabad, India. This role serves as Responsible AI partner for the Amgen India (AIN) site, helping product, engineering, data science, and innovation teams translate enterprise Responsible AI expectations into practical decisions and ways of working. You will build trusted relationships across Amgen India and serve as a practical point of contact for AI governance and responsible development and use questions, helping teams interpret and apply enterprise Responsible AI standards, processes, and expectations consistently. The role partners closely with the AI & Data Science team, Technology, and relevant Quality, Technology, Security, Privacy, Legal, and business teams. It will help make Responsible AI a practical, integrated part of Amgen India’s innovation ecosystem. ResponsibilitiesDrive appropriate implementation and adoption of enterprise AI governance requirements across the enterprise and in Amgen India, helping ensure expectations are visible, understood, and consistently applied across the organization. Embed Responsible AI into Amgen's innovation ecosystem by partnering early with product, engineering, data science, platform, and innovation teams to identify governance needs, risks, and decision points. Build a consistent site-level understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, and risk-based decision making through office hours, targeted sessions, practical guidance, and participation in relevant forums. Serve as a trusted advisor and responsive point of contact for product, engineering, data science, platform, and innovation teams; participate in planning and delivery conversations as needed to identify governance needs early. Coordinate with relevant Quality, Technology, Security, Privacy, Legal, and business partners when AI governance questions require specialist input or escalation. Represent Responsible AI at relevant Amgen India events, forums, and communities of practice. Surface recurring governance questions, pain points, and emerging risks from Amgen India teams; share local implementation insights with the enterprise Responsible AI team to inform scalable guidance, literacy efforts, and enablement. Partner with the AI & Data Science Center of Excellence on governance-relevant evaluation metrics, thresholds, and monitoring considerations where they intersect with enterprise AI governance requirements. Basic Qualifications and Experience8-13 years of overall experience in AI/ML, AI product development, data science, machine learning, engineering, information systems, AI governance, technology risk, compliance, quality, digital transformation, or a related field. Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional projects, programs, or workstreams in a complex, matrixed organization. Must-Have SkillsWorking knowledge of modern AI systems, including generative AI and the AI development lifecycle, with the ability to engage credibly with product, engineering, and data science teams. Understanding of Responsible AI, AI governance, AI risk management, and relevant regulatory or standards-based expectations, such as the NIST AI Risk Management Framework and EU AI Act concepts. Ability to translate policy, governance, risk, quality, privacy, security, or compliance expectations into practical guidance, processes, documentation, and action for delivery teams. Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills; comfortable advising teams, responding to questions, and influencing without direct authority. Ability to work effectively across global and local teams, manage competing priorities, and exercise sound judgment on when to advise, escalate, or engage specialist partners. Nice-to-Have SkillsExperience in AI product development, data science, machine learning, MLOps/LLMOps, AI evaluation, observability, platform governance, or AI security. Experience in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, financial services, or another regulated industry. Experience supporting AI governance-by-design, technical control implementation, risk assessments, audit readiness, or lifecycle monitoring. .
