This position reports to: Engineering Manager __ Are you an experienced control systems specialist who enjoys solving technical challenges where no two days are the same? At ABB, we're expanding our service team and looking for a Senior Field Service Engineer with strong expertise in industrial automation and control systems. This is an opportunity to combine advanced troubleshooting, customer interaction, field service, and project work while supporting some of Norway's most important industrial and energy operations. Whether you're resolving critical incidents remotely, performing system health checks, or supporting customers offshore, you'll play a key role in keeping mission-critical systems running safely and efficiently. What You'll Be Doing As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you'll enjoy a highly varied and hands-on role where your expertise makes a real difference. Your responsibilities will include: Diagnosing and resolving technical incidents and customer inquiries through our case management system, Remedy Providing on-site support for customers across Norway, both onshore and offshore Troubleshooting and restoring complex control systems in critical operational environments Performing proactive system health checks to improve reliability, performance, and customer satisfaction Contributing to projects ranging from minor system modifications to larger implementation and upgrade activities Collaborating with a highly skilled team of engineers based in Bergen and Hammerfest while working closely with customers and project teams Who We're Looking For You are a technically strong and customer-focused engineer who thrives on problem-solving and enjoys working independently in dynamic environments. We believe you bring: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or a related field At least 5 years of relevant professional experience Solid experience with ABB 800xA and/or Advant/Safeguard systems Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and fault-finding capabilities Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Willingness to travel approximately 20-50% as part of the role Professional proficiency in English It is an advantage if you also have: Offshore experience or willingness to obtain offshore certification Knowledge of industrial networking and communication systems Norwegian language skills Why Join ABB?
