Job Description SummaryUnder limited supervision, supports engineers in the design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production equipment. Partners with engineering teams to support tooling release activities, preventive maintenance programs, and manufacturing documentation. Collaborates with internal and international teams on product, process, tooling, and troubleshooting initiatives. Provides analytical support through fault analysis, dissection, cross-sectioning, and measurement of defective products. Supports engineering changes, tooling and process modifications, and documentation updates while ensuring compliance with quality and regulatory requirements. At our State College site, teams design, manufacture, and service diagnostic medical ultrasound transducers (probes) used across a wide range of clinical applications including surgery, urology, cardiology, and radiology. As a high-mix, low-volume, regulated manufacturing environment, the site combines advanced engineering, precision manufacturing, and lifecycle support to deliver critical imaging technology that enables clinicians to make real-time decisions in patient care. Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesContribute technical expertise to manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and equipment improvements. Support the release, qualification, implementation, and lifecycle management of manufacturing tooling and fixtures. Apply standardized methods and solutions across a variety of manufacturing processes. Create, revise, and maintain manufacturing procedures, work instructions, maintenance records, and technical documentation. Implement approved engineering changes affecting product design, tooling, processes, and documentation. Partner with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Supply Chain teams to support troubleshooting, process improvements, supplier qualification, and project execution. Perform cross-sectioning, polishing, measurement, and analysis of product features, and communicate findings to Process Engineers. Support the evaluation and improvement of manufacturing methods to reduce lead time, increase reliability, and improve yield. Coordinate preventive maintenance, calibration, troubleshooting, and repair activities for electro-mechanical manufacturing equipment, tooling, and fixtures. Maintain maintenance, calibration, tooling, inventory, and change-control records to ensure manufacturing readiness and minimize downtime. Prepare technical reports, project updates, maintenance summaries, and documentation packages for management review. Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent Experience supporting manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and documentation systems Experience with technical documentation, work instructions, engineering change processes, and document control systems Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience Ability to work in a cross-functional environment Preferred QualificationsAssociate Degree in a technical discipline. Experience implementing engineering changes and maintaining controlled manufacturing documents. Experience in an FDA-regulated, ISO 13485, or other highly regulated manufacturing environment. Ability to manage multiple priorities involving tooling maintenance, process support, and engineering change activities. Strong interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and technical development. Brings energy, accountability, and a continuous improvement mindset to daily activities.
