We are seeking a strategic, highly analytical, and forward-thinking Senior Director of FP&A to serve as the right-hand partner to the Vice President of FP&A. This critical leadership role will own the consolidation of the company’s P&L and drive the execution of core financial processes, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), in-quarter forecasting, and actuals reporting. Beyond core financial management, this role is uniquely positioned to modernize our finance function by evolving FP&A from retrospective reporting into a forward-looking decision-support organization. The ideal candidate will be a champion of innovation, tasked with owning the FP&A technology roadmap, creating automated executive decision products, and applying AI to transform our workflows. Furthermore, this leader will play a pivotal role in developing a modern, highly capable FP&A team and influencing strategic decision-making across the broader business. This is a hybrid role, expected to be onsite 3 days a week in our San Jose HQ. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Decision Support, Planning & Reporting - Enterprise Performance Management: Evolve FP&A from retrospective reporting into a forward-looking decision-support function, integrating financial, operational, commercial, customer, and market signals into enterprise planning and performance management. - Executive Decision Products: Create executive decision products, including rolling forecasts, business momentum indicators, exception-based reporting, prioritized action queues, and automated performance narratives, that reduce manual analysis and accelerate decision-making. - P&L Consolidation: Manage the comprehensive consolidation of the corporate P&L, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and alignment with strategic objectives. - Executive & Board Support: Play a critical role in quarterly earnings preparation and the creation of Board of Directors presentations, delivering accurate data, compelling financial narratives, and strategic insights. - AOP Scenario Planning: Build out and analyze complex, multi-variable financial scenarios to support the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-range strategic planning. - In-Quarter Forecasting & Actuals: Oversee the in-quarter forecasting process to provide clear visibility into risks and opportunities and direct the timely delivery of actuals reporting with insightful variance analysis. Process Innovation & Technology - Technology & AI Roadmap: Own the FP&A technology and innovation roadmap, including the responsible application of AI for analysis, summarization, explanation, and workflow automation, while maintaining human oversight for material financial and strategic decisions. - Workflow Optimization: Relentlessly drive continuous improvement and efficiencies across all Finance and FP&A processes, eliminating redundancies and manual interventions. Project & Calendar Management - AOP Leadership: Own and manage the comprehensive AOP calendar and overarching timelines. Ensure strict adherence to deadlines and facilitate seamless cross-functional alignment throughout the planning cycle. Leadership & Organizational Development - Modern FP&A Organization: Develop a modern FP&A organization with strong capabilities across finance, analytics, data modeling, systems, business partnership, and executive communication, supported by structured pilots, training, documentation, and adoption plans. - Organizational Influence: Act as a key influencer within the broader Finance organization. Partner collaboratively with accounting, operations, and business leaders to drive cohesive financial strategies and best practices. Required Qualifications: - Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. An MBA, CPA, or CMA is highly preferred. - Experience: 10–15+ years of progressive FP&A experience, with a proven track record of managing complex P&L consolidations at a senior leadership level, including direct exposure to board and earnings prep. - Technical Acumen: Strong fluency in modern financial systems (e.g., Oracle, Anaplan, Adaptive Insights). A demonstrated passion for and practical experience with implementing AI tools, automation, or advanced financial modeling technologies. - Leadership Skills: Exceptional ability to lead and develop talent. Strong executive presence with the ability to influence peers and senior leadership without direct authority. - Strategic Agility: Highly analytical mindset with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business strategies.
