The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As a Sourcing Specialist – Tapes & Films based in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) in India, you will operate as an individual contributor supporting sourcing and supplier management activities across 3M businesses and divisions. In this role, you will collaborate with global category teams, suppliers, and cross-functional stakeholders, applying curiosity, analytical thinking, and strong business partnership skills to help drive category performance, support strategic sourcing initiatives, and contribute to effective supplier relationships within the Tapes & Films category. Here, you will make an impact by: Oversee procurement and supplier management for the Tapes & Films category, including supplier selection, negotiations, NPI support, sourcing execution, and supplier relationship management and collaborate with global category teams and cross-functional stakeholders to support cost, quality, supply continuity, and category strategy objectives. Drive sourcing strategies that reduce total cost, improve working capital, strengthen supplier performance, and support business growth through fact-based decisions and should-cost analysis. Support supplier selection, negotiations, dual sourcing, risk reduction, supply continuity, and evaluation of sourcing opportunities across materials, components, outsource manufacturing, and plastic film production needs. Use sourcing data, metrics, SAP experience, and analytics to conduct spend, supplier, market, and cost assessments that improve service, speed, cost, and process effectiveness. Drive productivity initiatives, supplier performance improvements, issue resolution, savings tracking, and timely execution of sourcing projects in partnership with suppliers and internal stakeholders. Lead and support supplier contract negotiations with 3M Division stakeholders and 3M Legal, ensuring agreements and commercial arrangements align with sourcing strategies, business needs, risk mitigation requirements, timelines, pricing mechanisms, and applicable 3M processes. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires, at a minimum, the following qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or higher, completed and verified prior to start. Minimum five (5) years of combined experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Project Management, Supply Chain, or related business functions. Strong procurement experience, preferably with outsource manufacturing suppliers, plastic film production processes, SAP/procurement systems, spend analysis, savings tracking, and supplier performance reporting. Additional Qualifications That Could Help You Succeed Even Further in This Role Proven ability to apply data analysis, negotiation, financial acumen, problem-solving, and project management skills to manage multiple priorities and support sourcing execution. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external teams, functions, businesses, geographies, and global matrixed environments.
