Job Description: Airbus Defence and Space is looking for a Software Developer (m/f) to join our Ground Systems Navigation department (now mainly working on EGNOS v3 the European Satellite Based Augmentation System) in charge of the definition, development and validation of Navigation Subsystems, based in Toulouse, France. In this role, you will start by writing high-quality code in Python, C++, and C, while embarking on a structured learning and development path. Your primary objective is to rapidly scale up your competencies in Software Architecture and DevSecOps practices. You will learn to design, build, and secure software using highly industrialized processes, ensuring that our products meet the strict reliability, automation, and security standards required in our industrial context. Your challenges: Industrialized Software Development: Write clean, optimized, and maintainable code in Python, C++, and/or C, adhering to strict industry coding standards. Competency Ramp-up in Software Architecture: Work alongside senior engineers to understand design patterns, system dependencies, and modular architecture, preparing you to eventually design complex software components. Integrated DevSecOps Integration: Gradually master and apply modern DevSecOps tooling and practices including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD). Security & Quality Automation: Participate in the integration of security-by-design concepts (such as automated SAST scanning and dependency checks) into our pipeline workflows. Workflow Industrialization: Contribute to the automation and efficiency of the development cycle, ensuring that testing, deployment, and monitoring processes are fully reproducible and scalable. Technical Documentation: Support the creation of comprehensive architectural and procedural documentation for industrialized deployments. Your profile: Education: Background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline. Coding Fundamentals: Solid academic or practical experience in programming with Python, C++, or C. Passion for Architecture & DevSecOps: A strong desire to move beyond basic coding to understand system architecture, automation pipelines, and cybersecurity in development. Industrial Mindset: An understanding of (or deep interest in) how software is produced at scale—prioritizing robustness, automated testing, predictability, and safety. Familiarity with Modern Tooling: Basic knowledge of Git; any exposure to Docker, CI/CD pipelines, or automation tools is highly appreciated. Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, a proactive attitude toward troubleshooting, and a collaborative team player.
