ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD. At AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future. Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career. THE ROLE: AMD is seeking a Product Development Engineer to help deliver high-quality microprocessors to our customers while optimizing cost, quality, yield, and time to market. You will contribute across the full product lifecycle, from developing pre-silicon characterization strategies and identifying test coverage gaps to driving post-silicon debug, yield improvement, and manufacturing test-flow optimization. Working closely with Product Engineering, Test, Design, Platform, and Fab teams, you will analyze characterization and yield data, investigate complex silicon failures, and improve ATE and system-level test (SLT) manufacturing flows for new products and advanced process technologies. THE PERSON: The ideal candidate is a technically strong and highly collaborative product engineer with experience in semiconductor manufacturing, silicon characterization, yield analysis, and production test methodologies. You have strong analytical judgment, communicate complex findings clearly, and can lead cross-functional teams through challenging technical investigations. You are comfortable working in both Windows and Unix environments and applying statistical analysis techniques to translate test data into meaningful improvements in product quality, yield, and cost. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop and execute end-to-end characterization plans for new silicon products and process technologies Analyze characterization and yield data across ATE, SLT, and other manufacturing insertions Lead cross-functional debug efforts involving Product Engineering, Test, Design, Platform, and Fab teams Investigate silicon and manufacturing test failures to identify root causes and coverage gaps Drive yield improvement through statistical analysis of test results and collaborative technical debug Optimize manufacturing test flows and methodologies to improve product quality, cost, and test efficiency Evaluate product features and performance targets to support pre-silicon test planning Identify opportunities to improve test coverage, screening effectiveness, and production readiness Present technical findings, recommendations, and results to engineering stakeholders PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Product engineering experience supporting modern microprocessors or complex semiconductor products Hands-on experience with ATE and system-level test methodologies Experience with silicon characterization, yield analysis, and failure debug Proficiency with data-analysis methods and tools, including Pareto analysis, statistical analysis, JMP, or equivalent platforms Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication processes and manufacturing flows Strong understanding of semiconductor device physics and common failure mechanisms Working knowledge of modern computer architecture Proficiency in Windows and Unix environments Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical data presentation Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional technical investigations Extensive relevant product engineering, semiconductor test, characterization, or yield-analysis experience ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship. #LI-CJ2 Benefits offered are described: AMD benefits at a glance .
