Job Function: Finance Job Sub Function: Finance Business Partners Job Category: Professional All Job Posting Locations: Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, United States of America, Raritan, New Jersey, United States of America, Raynham, Massachusetts, United States of America, Warsaw, Indiana, United States of America, West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States of America Job Description: DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Sr. Manager, Close / A2R, located in Raynham, Massachusetts, Raritan, NJ, and West Chester, PA The Sr. Manager, Close / A2R serves as the Global Process Owner for accounting close and accounting-to-reporting (A2R) processes for DePuy Synthes. This role is accountable for setting the global process vision, defining standards, strengthening governance, and driving consistent adoption of scalable close and reporting practices across regions, business units, and service delivery partners. The position partners closely with Finance, FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Technology, and Shared Services to enable high-quality financial reporting, strong internal controls, process simplification, and finance transformation. Rather than serving as the day-to-day owner of close execution, this role provides strategic process leadership, establishes guardrails and performance expectations, and ensures the A2R operating model is fit for purpose as the organization evolves. Key Responsibilities Define and own the global A2R process strategy, roadmap, standards, and governance model for close activities. Establish global process design principles and requirements for financial closing and reporting activities. Lead close governance forums, define process performance metrics, monitor compliance with global standards, and drive accountability for timely issue resolution. Partner with FP&A, Treasury, Tax, Compliance, Technology, business finance, and service delivery teams to align process design with business needs, reporting requirements, and control expectations. Sponsor and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives that simplify close activities, improve data quality, reduce cycle time, enhance automation, and increase global process consistency. Build process capability across the organization by developing playbooks, training, role clarity, and adoption plans for finance teams and shared service partners. Represent A2R process requirements in ERP, close management, reporting, and transformation initiatives, ensuring solutions are standardized, controlled, scalable, and aligned with the global process roadmap. Serve as the senior process authority for business changes, restructurings, integrations, and complex accounting process impacts, providing decision support and escalating design trade-offs where needed. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (required). MBA or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance (preferred). Experience and Skills: Required: 8–10 years of progressive experience in accounting, A2R, close governance, process ownership, transformation, or financial reporting roles. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements. Demonstrated experience designing, governing, and improving complex close or A2R processes across a large, matrixed, global organization. Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams, lead through ambiguity, and drive adoption of global standards without relying solely on direct reporting authority. Preferred: Experience with A2R transformation, shared services, or global accounting models. Experience with ERP and financial close systems (e.g., SAP or similar platforms). Background in manufacturing, medical device, or healthcare environment. Experience supporting audits, regulatory reviews, and complex accounting topics. CPA or equivalent professional certification. Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Ability to partner effectively with cross‑functional and senior stakeholders. Other: Languages: English (required). Travel: Up to 10–15%, primarily domestic with occasional international travel. Certifications: CPA or equivalent (preferred).
