About the Team Workday is expanding its Professional Services Consulting team in India across a broad range of experience levels and skills. Our consultants deliver high-quality services to customers in close partnership with regional consulting teams, helping them successfully implement Workday’s best-in-class cloud solutions. About the Role As a Manager, Workday Extend Consulting Management, you will lead and grow a team of consultants and developers who build custom Extend applications for customers on the Workday platform. You will be accountable for building technical depth on your team, ensuring app quality and security, supporting customer satisfaction, and growing the Extend practice within Workday's global delivery model. You will partner closely with Resource Management, regional consulting teams, Engagement Managers, and project leaders to align staffing, skills, and delivery capacity with customer needs. You will also stay close to customer engagements, keep deep expertise in Extend architecture and delivery methodology, and help shape the direction of the Global Services and Professional Services organization. Responsibilities: Lead, coach, develop, and retain a diverse, high-performing team of Extend consultants and developers. Foster a collaborative, challenging, innovative, and inclusive team environment. Own and continuously improve onboarding, performance management, talent development, and career-growth processes for your team. Partner with Resource Management, regional teams, and Engagement Managers to staff customer engagements and build Extend capability across the consulting organization. Drive customer satisfaction, references, utilization, and delivery performance against quarterly objectives. Guide your team's use of Workday's implementation methodology and Extend delivery standards, including app promotion, security design, and code review processes. Guide the design and delivery of custom Extend micro-apps (for example, awards programs, asset management, tuition reimbursement, and region-specific compliance workflows) using App Builder, Custom Business Objects, Page Builder, and Orchestrate. Oversee integration and orchestration flows that connect Extend apps with third-party platforms and services, using WQL, REST APIs, and Workday Web Services. Manage app migration pipelines across Development, Implementation, Sandbox, and Production tenants, and maintain governance frameworks for app promotion, security, and Extend credit and capacity usage. Run agile delivery for your team, including sprint planning, translating business needs into technical specifications, and managing backlogs. Help assess customer needs, shape solution proposals, and oversee end-to-end implementation of Extend solutions. Collaborate across regions, teams, and time zones as part of a global delivery model. Maintain and strengthen expertise in Workday Extend, the Business Process Framework, Domain Security Policies, and native HCM and Financials object models. Contribute to the direction of the Global Services and Professional Services organization by leading and participating in internal initiatives. Build strong working relationships with customers, technical teams, developers, and operational partners. About You About You Basic Qualifications 12+ years of experience implementing cloud-based enterprise systems, including hands-on work with the Workday platform. 5+ years of experience leading and developing high-performing consulting or technical teams. Workday Extend Certification. Other Qualifications Deep technical knowledge of Workday Extend Platform Architecture, including App Builder, Custom Business Objects (CBOs), Extend UI components, Page Builder, and Workday Orchestrate. Strong skills in integrations and data engineering, including Workday Query Language (WQL), REST APIs, JSON/XML data formats, SQL coding, Workday Web Services, and third-party API configuration. Expert knowledge of Workday Platform Fundamentals, including the Business Process Framework (BPF), Domain Security Policies, and native object models across HCM and Financials. Hands-on experience with tenant governance, including managing app migration pipelines across Development, Implementation, Sandbox, and Production tenants. AI Skills - Shaping the strategic direction of the practice — leading the organisation's pivot toward AI, ensuring consultants are upskilled on AI capabilities and aligned with Workday's broader company mission Leading the AI upskilling initiative — championing the development of AI advisory skills across the team so they can guide customers on how to take advantage of Workday's AI-powered solutions Familiarity with AI concepts and a passion for driving AI adoption within a consulting organisation Experience with agile product and delivery management, including sprint planning, translating business needs into technical specifications, managing backlogs, and leading developer teams. Strong understanding of security and compliance, with the ability to enforce security alignment, protect data privacy, and maintain Workday's unified security model. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master's degree in a related discipline is a plus. Strong consulting, organizational, and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities across time zones. Strong networking, mentoring, coaching, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with customers, consultants, developers, and cross-functional partners.
