Moving mountains together – as Post-Doc – Innovative manufacturing concepts on Biologics (all genders) Early Manufacturing Process Development (EMPD) within Biologics Drug Product Development is responsible for developing robust manufacturing processes for AbbVie's parenteral pipeline projects, supporting the advancement of biologics through early clinical stages. Biologics are often co-administered with other biologics to boost their clinical efficacy and the overall patient experience, while requiring multiple injections. Formulating both active ingredients into a single drug product significantly strengthens patient compliance and dose accuracy. This goes along with additional technical challenges for drug development and manufacturing, which will become your primary topics of interest through the upcoming 24 months. You will design, execute and assess studies to identify key risks and their mechanisms for co-formulating biologics during drug product development and manufacturing, comprising identified unit operations as well as in-process controls to enable a state-of-the-art, compliant and robust control strategy while maintaining maximum dose-range flexibility. Responsibilities Plan and perform systematic studies to dive deeper into innovative formulation concepts for biologic drug products Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and present work at internal panels and scientific conferences aligned with business objectives Collaborate with international multidisciplinary teams to advance project goals Participate in investigations on root cause analyses of development projects related to the scientific area Demonstrate a high degree of responsibility in maintaining scientific standards, and safe laboratory practices Maintain a high level of productivity in the laboratory setting Actively engage with scientific literature and apply insights to individual project(s) as well as the overall program Ph.D. in pharmaceutical technology, biochemistry or related area, preferably with a background in parenteral/biological processing or similar.
