THE ROLE: AMD is seeking a Senior Materials Technician to join our Operations team supporting a fast-paced data center lab environment in Secaucus, New Jersey. This role sits at the intersection of materials management, inventory control, logistics, warehouse operations, and engineering lab support. As a key member of the team, you will help ensure critical hardware, systems, boards, servers, equipment, and materials move efficiently throughout AMD's data center and lab operations. You will partner closely with engineering teams, lab personnel, logistics providers, and operations stakeholders to support the receipt, storage, tracking, movement, inspection, and shipment of assets that support AMD's industry-leading AI, compute, and semiconductor technologies. They take pride in maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring materials are where they need to be, and supporting critical operational activities across multiple projects and stakeholders. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Support day-to-day inventory management, material tracking, warehouse activities, and logistics operations within AMD's Secaucus data center lab environment. Receive, inspect, process, store, and track inbound and outbound materials, equipment, and assets. Verify quantities, part numbers, serial numbers, and shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and traceability. Perform SAP transactions and maintain accurate inventory records to support material visibility and asset tracking. Utilize SharePoint and Microsoft tools to support inventory tracking, reporting, and operational workflows. Coordinate movement of materials between engineering, testing, failure analysis, rework, logistics, and operational teams. Conduct inventory counts, audits, and reconciliation activities to maintain inventory accuracy. Investigate inventory discrepancies and support corrective actions when needed. Monitor material status and provide updates to key stakeholders across engineering and operations organizations. Support receiving, storage, shipping, and material movement activities across warehouse and laboratory environments. Partner with logistics providers and internal teams to support shipment planning, tracking, and material movements. Assist with equipment staging, deployments, relocations, returns, and asset recovery activities. Support expedited and high-priority material requests. Support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high levels of organization, accuracy, and attention to detail. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems for inventory management and material tracking. Experience supporting inventory control, warehouse operations, materials management, logistics, shipping/receiving, or supply chain activities. Experience working within a data center, laboratory, semiconductor, manufacturing, electronics, or technology environment. Knowledge of receiving, inspection, shipping, inventory control, and material handling processes. Experience utilizing SharePoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Power BI, and other Microsoft applications. Experience supporting engineering labs, technical operations, or hardware development environments. Ability to track multiple projects and manage competing priorities. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities. Experience supporting cross-functional teams in a fast-paced operational environment. Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools and a willingness to leverage technology to improve operational efficiency. Experience handling technical equipment, hardware systems, boards, servers, high-value assets, or controlled materials. Knowledge of domestic and international shipping processes and logistics coordination. Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification is a plus. ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant industry experience will be considered. LOCATION: Secaucus, New Jersey This position is primarily onsite and supports AMD's data center lab operations and warehouse environment. Candidates should be comfortable working in an operational setting and supporting occasional overtime, including weekends, as business needs require.
