As a Senior Trial Attorney, you'll independently manage a complex litigation caseload involving bodily injury, property damage and PIP/No-Fault lawsuits, subrogation matters, and uninsured/underinsured motorist claims. You'll lead trials, arbitrations, mediations, and high-exposure negotiations while providing strategic counsel to business partners and collaborating across legal teams. Key Responsibilities Represents insured individuals and Allstate in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuits, subrogation litigation, PIP/no-fault matters, and uninsured/underinsured motorist cases. Independently manages all aspects of litigation from case inception through resolution, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, arbitrations, mediations, settlement negotiations, and trial. Reviews new file assignments, analyzes documentary evidence, develops litigation strategy, and directs discovery efforts. Prepares for and conducts hearings, depositions, examinations under oath, arbitrations, mediations, settlement conferences, and trials. Drafts and argues substantive motions and prepares complex pleadings, trial documents, and motions in limine. Prepares witnesses, clients, and expert witnesses for depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and trial testimony. Investigates and pursues subrogation opportunities and recovery efforts, as appropriate. Provides legal counsel and strategic litigation guidance to claims business partners and other internal clients. Keeps claim business partners informed regarding case developments, litigation strategy, exposure assessments, settlement recommendations, and trial preparation. Keeps abreast of and evaluates new laws, regulations, and case law developments; identifies emerging legal trends and proactively advises business partners regarding potential impacts. The Senior Trial Attorney is required to travel to court as needed throughout the Metro Boston area, Worcester, the South Shore, Greater Boston, and other locations across Massachusetts in support of litigation responsibilities, including court appearances, depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials. Education Juris Doctorate and active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts State Bar. Experience 4+ years of litigation experience within insurance defense, bodily injury, personal injury, PIP/no-fault litigation, subrogation, or related civil litigation fields. First or second chair jury trial experience preferred. Experience conducting depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, and settlement negotiations. Demonstrated ability to independently manage an active litigation caseload through resolution. Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, legal research platforms, and internet-based legal research tools. Strong teamwork skills, able to collaborate effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative assistants. Ability to work effectively in a remote/hybrid environment and travel throughout Massachusetts, including the Metro Boston area, Worcester, the South Shore, Greater Boston, and other court venues as needed.
