Job Overview The primary role for the NA Tech Center New Product Introduction (NPI) Engineer is project coordination for launches of new products within the region and changes to the existing supply chain that may occur via qualification of a new manufacturing site, and alternate material, or new pack size offerings. In this role, the individual will establish a network across the key stakeholders and ensure actions are delivered to support Business needs. In addition to these coordination responsibilities, this role is required to support key projects and programs within the region to drive process safety, continuous improvement, and technical standardization efforts. This role will be based at the FMC Philadelphia Headquarters and reports to the NA Formulations and Packaging Technical Center Manager. Responsibilities Responsible for project management and coordination of the following changes:Launch of new Formulations Qualification of alternate materials (active ingredient or co-formulant) in existing formulations Qualification of new or alternate manufacturing plants New package size offerings Maintain a database of FMC and Toller production capabilities and capacities Core areas of responsibility related to new products, alternate material and product transfers projects include:Developing project timelines and maintaining all project related information Driving critical tasks, coordinating progress with Business, Regulatory, Planning, Procurement, R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Tech center Tech Center primary contact for assessment of new active ingredients (i.e. hazard, risk, capability, capacity, and complexity). Collaborate with the appropriate resources Ensuring role alignment and accountabilities across the coordination team Establishing regular communication with different stakeholders regarding critical milestones for each project to ensure timely product launch Work in partnership with other Regional NPI Engineers on Global Formulation launches and Plant to Plant transfers Develop and propose siting options Support additional other projects in region related to the following, as needed:Process Safety Management implementation Provide technical support for Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) conducted at the FMC manufacturing sites, tollers or for capital projects Support the Responsible Care and Sustainability initiatives Development and execution of improvement projectsSupport plant/regional Operations through review of performance data, identify and develop long-term improvement plans Ensure Management of Change process are completed for new project implementation, including HAZOP, PHA, QAR, site specific requirements and lessons learned meetings Act as a change coordinator in Quality Assurance Reviews (QARs) Required Education BS in Chemical Engineering or related field required Qualifications BA/BS in Chemical Engineering or related field Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a chemical environment Strong background in project management, delivering projects with multiple stakeholders and tracking project demands, Microsoft Project experience Strong collaboration, communication and delegation skills Experience and knowledge with process safety management Experience with capital deployment process and strong project management skills Strong engineering fundamentals. Ability to interpret and apply broad basis principles, theories and concepts.
