We are seeking an entry-level Industrial Designer to join the Hair Care Research & Development Innovation Design team. This role is ideal for a highly creative industrial designer with exceptional aesthetic sensibility, a passion for beauty, and a desire to bring breakthrough product and packaging experiences to life. As part of our R&D organization, you will help envision and design the next generation of beauty experiences across physical and digital touchpoints. You will explore emerging consumer needs, cultural trends, new technologies, and future-forward design opportunities that inspire consumers and elevate our brands. Your Team The P&G Research & Development Innovation Design Studio at the Mason Business & Innovation Center (MBIC) offers a unique opportunity to work on innovations from the earliest stages of discovery through market launch. Our multidisciplinary design team includes Industrial Designers, Digital Designers, and Color, Material & Finish (CMF) specialists who collaborate to create meaningful consumer experiences across the Hair Care, Skin Care, and Personal Care businesses. This position will primarily support our Hair Care portfolio, partnering on world-class brands including: Pantene Head & Shoulders Herbal Essences Aussie In addition, you will have opportunities to contribute across Beauty Care programs, gaining broad exposure to innovation challenges, emerging technologies, and diverse consumer experiences. Key Responsibilities This is a highly collaborative, hands-on design role where you will actively shape future innovation concepts and experiences. You will: Create innovative product and packaging concepts that delight consumers and support business growth. Explore and visualize new beauty experiences through sketching, digital rendering, CAD development, and prototyping. Translate consumer insights, market trends, and emerging technologies into compelling design solutions. Develop beautiful, desirable, and manufacturable product concepts from exploration through execution. Partner with cross-functional teams including R&D, Marketing, Engineering, Packaging, and Brand Design. Build physical and digital prototypes to test, refine, and communicate ideas. Present concepts and storytelling materials that inspire stakeholders and leadership. Contribute to multiple innovation projects while demonstrating ownership, initiative, and accountability. Job Qualifications Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related design discipline. 0-5 years of professional experience, including internships, co-ops, or full-time roles. Passion for beauty, consumer products, and creating emotionally engaging consumer experiences. Strong portfolio demonstrating design thinking, creativity, and design execution. Preferred Experience or demonstrated proficiency in: Product and packaging design. Consumer-centered innovation. Digital experience design and storytelling. Visual AI tools used within the design process and creative development. Portfolio Requirements Your portfolio should demonstrate a strong foundation in industrial design craft, creative thinking, and an elevated sense of aesthetics. We are particularly interested in seeing evidence of: Beautiful form development and aesthetic refinement. Exceptional sketching and visual storytelling skills. Ability to translate insights into meaningful product experiences. 2D visualization skills (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar tools). 3D CAD development (SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360, KeyShot, or equivalent). Rapid prototyping including 3D printing and physical model making. Understanding of CMF strategy, decoration techniques, and manufacturing processes. Curiosity around emerging technologies, AI-enabled creative workflows, and future design tools.
