Principal GPU Software Architect THE ROLE You will serve as a cross-functional technical leader in driving agentically-assisted software development teams that design, implement, validate, and deliver critical capabilities across the software lifecycle. This role focuses on aligning roadmaps, reviewing technical approaches, identifying delivery risks, and establishing practices that improve performance, quality, and execution consistency. Success requires strong systems engineering judgment, practical experience maturing software teams, and the ability to turn technical knowledge into durable processes, documentation, and self-service resources. THE PERSON The ideal candidate thrives in ambiguous, cross-functional environments where technical depth, structured thinking, and influence are required to move teams forward. They are comfortable working across organizational boundaries, translating complex engineering challenges into clear priorities, practical plans, and durable operating models. They bring a continuous-improvement mindset, strong judgment, and the ability to coach teams while establishing the processes, documentation, and governance needed to scale execution. They are most effective when helping others succeed through clarity, collaboration, and disciplined technical leadership. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Establish collaborative processes across libraries teams to design, implement, validate, and deliver key software library capabilities, ensuring successful integration into broader systems. Establishes, validates, and updates the software roadmap in collaboration with key stakeholders. Leads the collaborative engineering scoping of new architectures, design adaptations, and creates documentation efforts as they arise across teams. Establishes strategies and programs that provide technical governance for these efforts across engineering teams. Drive and assist in reviewing technical designs and proposed engineering approaches of the technical staff. Ensure that plans holistically consider constraints, performance, and roadmap commitments. Conduct research to explore new technologies and methodologies that can improve software performance and organizational efficiency. Propose innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of software teams in agentic-assisted software development workflows. Use organizational sensing techniques to identify plans at risk and develop strategies to uplift teams when required. Provide support and guidance to technical staff in the execution of these strategies. Identify, capture, and transform tacit knowledge into self-service and digital forms. A key owner of the strategies supporting engineering best practices, accountable for the adoption of these practices by technical teams in collaboration with program and product stakeholders. Participates in the hiring and identification of key engineering talent; a trusted partner of technical managers. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Notable applied experience using systems engineering skills to accelerate and improve technical delivery, employing continuous improvement of the software lifecycle, including build robustness, regression and performance management, software deployment, operations, and orchestration management. Demonstrated success in a leadership role driving cross-functional contributions to inner-or-open source software development projects and driving the maturity of teams using various methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Kanban. Direct experience driving the maturity of organizations and software development teams through best practices, technical governance, and coaching and mentoring frameworks. Demonstrated ability to independently conduct, direct, and mentor teams to perform structured research, produce relevant executive and peer-reviewed technical and summary documents. Hands on experience with driving the conversion of knowledge from tacit to institutional artifacts, with success stories from peers and colleagues.
