The Research & Development Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting application development activities for gene-modified cell therapy technologies within a platform research and development environment. Interns will work closely with scientists and engineers to support technology development, workflow optimization, and scientific innovation initiatives. This position reports to the Gene-Modified Cell Therapy Application Development Leader and is part of the Research & Development organization located in Waltham and will be an on-site role. What you will do: Collaborate with scientists and engineers on research and development activities. Assist with experimental design, execution, and data analysis. Support cell-based application development and workflow optimization efforts, with exposure to techniques that may include cell culture, gene modification workflows, vector design, vector analysis, and cell-based assay development. Participate in scientific problem solving and technical reporting. Who you are: Currently pursuing a Master's or PhD in degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Molecular Biology, or a related scientific discipline. Laboratory experience through coursework, undergraduate research, graduate research, or internships; working knowledge of statistical methods and design of experiments. Basic knowledge of good laboratory practices and scientific methods. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and in a team environment It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in: Exposure to mammalian cell culture, molecular biology, gene modification technologies, vector design, vector analysis, cell-based assays, or scientific data analysis is desirable but not required. Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) The hourly range for this role is $35.00 or $38.00 depending on the level of education being perused.
