Job Title Senior IT Manager About Your Role As a Senior IT Manager, you will lead a high-performing development team responsible for delivering and supporting critical mainframe applications that power essential business and client operations. You will combine strong leadership, technical expertise, and operational oversight to drive technology delivery, support strategic initiatives, and ensure operational excellence across a complex enterprise environment. What you’ll do: Lead, coach, and develop a team of mainframe developers, engineers, and technical analysts responsible for application delivery, production support, and platform stability Oversee the full lifecycle of technology initiatives, from planning and design through implementation, deployment, and ongoing support Manage team capacity, workload prioritization, resource allocation, and delivery commitments to ensure successful execution of strategic objectives Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and application development teams to identify business needs and deliver effective technology solutions Drive operational excellence by monitoring application performance, production support activities, service levels, and delivery outcomes Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, governance processes, security requirements, and development best practices Identify and mitigate delivery, operational, and technical risks while proactively communicating status, issues, and dependencies to stakeholders Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing culture focused on continuous improvement, innovation, quality, and customer satisfaction Experience you’ll need to have: 8+ years of experience leading software development or IT teams 5+ years of hands-on mainframe technology experience in MVS, CICS, COBOL, JCL, MQ, etc. 5+ years of experience in managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, risk and critical delivery management Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education, work, and/or military experience Experience that would be great to have: Experience within financial services, banking, or card processing environments Experience managing application support, technology delivery, or operational teams Familiarity with project management methodologies, agile practices, and continuous initiatives How you’ll work: Fiserv emphasizes in-person collaboration to help you grow your career while shaping the future of fintech, this role is on-site Monday through Friday This role requires flexibility to work overtime that may include non-standard hours and weekends This role requires use of a computer and audio equipment Travel: Approximately 0-5% travel off-site or to other office locations is expected Sponsorship: In order to be considered, you must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for visa sponsorship now or in the future This role is not eligible to be performed in Colorado, California, District of Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Nevada, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, Maine or Washington.
