We are looking for a Sr. EHS Specialist for our Corporate Headquarters and Research & Development (R&D) facilities in North America. As the Sr. EHS Specialist, you will serve as a key member of the EHS team for the Materials Group North America business, driving regulatory compliance, environmental stewardship, safe operating conditions, and continuous EHS improvement across site and remote operations. Key Responsibilities: This position requires working full-time on site in Mentor, OH Monday through Friday, with availability to come on site on weekends in an emergency. Act as the primary EHS resource for the needs of the corporate headquarters (onsite), and three additional facilities based in Painesville, OH and Azusa, CA (remotely). Implement programs and develop facility-specific procedures that ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory and company requirements. Integrate company and facility level EHS management systems to maintain compliance, environmental protection, and safe operating conditions. Facilitate the management of change (MOC) program, ensure timely completion of approvals and Pre-Start-Up Safety Reviews, and serve as emergency response coordinator for the corporate headquarters. Investigate all spills, releases, injuries, fires, and near-misses, maintain required records, coordinate the JSA program, and drive continuous improvement and strong results from behavioral-based processes. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, or related field preferred, with 5+ years of relevant experience driving results on EHS assignments of progressive complexity, depth, and scope. Advanced professional EHS certification (CSP, CIH, CHMM, QEP, CEA, REM, etc.) preferred. Experience in a research and development laboratory environment, with knowledge of PSM or familiarity with solvent processes and solvent safety. Solid knowledge of regulatory requirements, EHS policies, procedures, and programs, with proven project/problem resolution skills and proficiency in applicable computer systems (Microsoft Office, Google Suite). Strong strategic thinking, leadership, interpersonal communication, mentoring, facilitating, and training skills, with the flexibility to support a 24-hour operation and up to 5% travel. Pay Transparency The salary range for this position is $83,000 - $111,000 / year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
