The Competitive and Market Intelligence team delivers ethical, systematic insights that drive differentiated customer value, maximize opportunities, and give decision-makers foresight into the competitive landscape. Our team is focused on transforming and scaling Workday's Competitive and Market Intelligence function into an AI-first platform, enabling deep insight and foresight into Workday's dynamic and rapidly changing competitive markets. About the Role As a Senior Principal on the Competitive and Market Intelligence team, you will be a foundational member of our Research Excellence pillar, responsible for building, executing, and maintaining the programs and infrastructure that power our customer focus and self-service model. Job Responsibilities: Owning and executing the team's win-loss program end-to-end, including defining Key Intelligence Questions, selecting and prioritizing opportunities for inclusion, and maintaining technical connectivity between our win-loss partner platforms and Workday's GTM systems Translating win-loss findings into actionable insights and delivering them to key partners and decision-makers throughout the business Designing and activating market intelligence systems, including dashboards, reporting, and self-service tools that enable partners to access the insights they need, when they need them Building and maintaining the research infrastructure that supports scalable, repeatable, and high-quality competitive and market intelligence About You Basic Qualifications:12+ years of experience in competitive intelligence or market intelligence in an enterprise environment. 12+ years of experience in market research, strategy, or a related analytical discipline. 10+ years of professional experience within a software as a service focused organization. Other Qualifications: Experienced in applying both quantitative and qualitative methodologies for systematic research planning, execution, and analysis, with the ability to break down ambiguous problems into structured, actionable research frameworks that yield clear insights. Skilled in managing complex, cross-functional projects from initiation through delivery, including upward management, managing internal clients and partners, and allocating team resources to balance priorities and deliver results on time. Strong communicator with a focus on clarity and impact, including experience with bottom-line-up-front writing, structured communication frameworks, visual presentation of quantitative data, executive-level presentations, meeting facilitation, and conducting interviews. Committed to fostering a collaborative team environment, including giving and receiving feedback openly, having a positive impact on the people around you, and contributing to team leadership and the growth of colleagues. Experienced in cross-functional leadership and building productive relationships with internal partners, with a consistent focus on understanding their needs and delivering measurable impact. Hands-on experience with win-loss analysis or other GTM-centric competitive and market intelligence programs, including designing research methodologies, managing vendor partnerships, and connecting intelligence outputs to go-to-market systems and workflows. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related discipline (MBA preferred). Workday Pay Transparency Statement The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
