Amgen is seeking a QA Lead – Salesforce & Copado Robotic Testing to lead quality engineering and testing capabilities for enterprise Salesforce platforms, including OneCRM and its integrated ecosystem. This role will be responsible for ensuring high-quality, reliable, and compliant application releases through a combination of manual, functional, integration, regression, and automated testing using Copado Robotic Testing (CRT). The QA Lead will own the end-to-end testing strategy and execution, lead cross-functional QA teams, and partner closely with business, product, engineering, architecture, and production support teams to ensure releases meet functional, technical, and quality expectations while supporting Amgen’s mission to serve patients. Key ResponsibilitiesQA & Testing LeadershipLead end-to-end QA activities for Salesforce applications and their integrated ecosystem, ensuring high-quality releases with minimal production defects. Define and drive the overall test strategy, test planning, execution, defect management, and reporting across releases. Lead testing activities across functional, integration, system, regression, end-to-end, and user acceptance testing phases. Ensure appropriate test coverage based on business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, technical designs, and integration specifications. Serve as the primary QA point of contact for product, business, engineering, and technology stakeholders. Manual & Functional TestingLead comprehensive manual testing of Salesforce applications, including business processes, workflows, validations, security, profiles, permission sets, and user experience. Design, review, and maintain test scenarios, test cases, test data, and expected results. Ensure adequate coverage of positive, negative, boundary, exception, and end-to-end business scenarios. Validate complex Salesforce business processes spanning multiple objects, personas, applications, and integrations. Drive exploratory and risk-based testing for business-critical capabilities. Copado Robotic Testing & Test AutomationLead adoption and implementation of Copado Robotic Testing (CRT) for Salesforce test automation. Design and maintain reusable, scalable, and maintainable automated test suites using Copado Robotic Testing. Identify appropriate manual regression scenarios for automation based on business criticality, repeatability, and ROI. Establish and continuously improve the automated regression test suite to increase coverage and reduce manual testing effort. Integrate automated testing into CI/CD and release pipelines wherever applicable. Monitor automation execution results, investigate failures, and ensure timely maintenance of automated test scripts. Define standards and best practices for Copado Robotic Testing development, execution, and maintenance. Integration & End-to-End TestingLead end-to-end testing across Salesforce and integrated enterprise platforms, including MuleSoft APIs, Databricks, and other upstream/downstream applications. Validate API integrations, data transformations, interface processing, error handling, and data reconciliation. Coordinate testing dependencies across multiple application and technology teams. Ensure critical business journeys are validated across the complete application and integration landscape. Defect Management & Quality GovernanceEstablish and enforce standardized defect management, triage, prioritization, and closure processes. Lead defect triage sessions with business, development, and product teams. Ensure defects are appropriately categorized based on severity, priority, business impact, and release risk. Track defect trends, leakage, reopen rates, and recurring quality issues. Drive root cause analysis for escaped production defects and implement preventive actions. Establish appropriate quality gates and release-readiness criteria before production deployment. Test Planning & Release ManagementDevelop comprehensive test plans and testing schedules aligned with sprint and release timelines. Estimate QA effort and determine appropriate testing capacity based on release scope and complexity. Coordinate QA activities across Agile sprints, major releases, hotfixes, patches, and production maintenance releases. Assess testing risks and proactively communicate potential impacts to release timelines. Provide clear QA sign-off and release-readiness recommendations based on test results, open defects, and residual risks. Support post-production validation and hypercare testing following major releases. Quality Engineering & Continuous ImprovementDrive the transition from traditional testing toward a quality engineering and automation-first approach. Identify opportunities to reduce repetitive manual testing through automation. Improve test efficiency through reusable test assets, automation, standardized processes, and optimized test data management. Establish QA standards, templates, metrics, and best practices across the delivery organization. Leverage defect and production incident trends to continuously strengthen regression coverage. Promote shift-left testing, enabling early QA involvement during requirements, refinement, and solution-design activities. Cross-Functional CollaborationPartner with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, Developers, Scrum Masters, and Production Support teams throughout the delivery lifecycle. Participate in requirements and user-story refinement to ensure requirements and acceptance criteria are clear, testable, and complete. Collaborate with upstream and downstream application teams to coordinate integration and end-to-end testing. Act as the bridge between business and technology teams for quality-related discussions. Communicate testing progress, risks, defects, dependencies, and release readiness to leadership and key stakeholders. Team LeadershipLead and mentor onshore/offshore QA and test automation teams. Drive appropriate allocation of QA resources based on release priorities and workload. Provide technical and functional guidance to manual and automation testers. Establish standards for test documentation, traceability, automation, and defect management. Drive knowledge sharing, cross-skilling, and capability development within the QA team. Mentor team members on Salesforce testing, Copado Robotic Testing, quality engineering, and testing best practices. Basic QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. 9–13 years of overall experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Quality Engineering. Significant experience leading QA activities for large-scale enterprise applications and complex releases. Preferred QualificationsStrong experience in Salesforce functional and manual testing. Hands-on experience with Copado Robotic Testing (CRT) for Salesforce test automation. Strong understanding of the Salesforce platform, preferably including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and/or Health Cloud. Experience developing and maintaining automated regression test suites. Experience testing Salesforce integrations, MuleSoft APIs, REST/SOAP services, and data interfaces. Experience with enterprise data platforms such as Databricks is preferred. Experience with end-to-end, integration, regression, API, and data validation testing. Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies and CI/CD practices. Familiarity with Copado, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar enterprise delivery and ticketing platforms. Experience with test management and defect tracking tools. Strong understanding of test automation strategy, quality gates, and release-readiness criteria. Experience working in regulated environments, preferably pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences. Understanding of GxP, compliance, data privacy, and validation requirements
