Whether you're building smarter solutions, supporting customers, or creating a space where everyone belongs, you’ll do meaningful work with Workmates who’ve got your back. In return, we’ll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you’ve found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too. About the Team You will join Workday's Higher Education Functional Consulting organization, supporting customers across Australia and the wider APAC region. As part of this team, you'll work alongside Student domain experts dedicated to helping colleges and universities successfully adopt and get the most value from Workday Student, partnering closely with Solution Consulting, Product Management, and Customer Success. About the Role Workday is looking for an experienced Senior Functional Consultant to join our Higher Education (Student) consulting practice in Australia, specializing in Student Reporting. In this role, you will help higher education customers design and build the reports, dashboards, and analytics they need to run their institution — covering areas such as admissions and enrollment funnels, academic records, curriculum, student financials, and regulatory/compliance reporting. As a Senior Functional Consultant, you will independently lead the reporting workstream on customer engagements, translating business reporting requirements into well-designed Workday reports, calculated fields, and dashboards, while partnering closely with Functional and Technical Consultants across the broader Student implementation. Key Responsibilities - Lead requirements-gathering workshops with customer stakeholders (Registrar, Institutional Research, Finance, Admissions) to define reporting and analytics needs across the student lifecycle. - Design, build, and test custom reports, calculated fields, dashboards, and discovery boards within Workday to meet functional and regulatory reporting requirements. - Advise customers on Workday reporting best practices, including report security, performance considerations, and reuse of delivered reporting content. - Partner with Functional Consultants on Student Records, Admissions, Recruiting, Curriculum & Advising, and Student Financials to ensure reporting reflects underlying business process configuration. - Support data validation and reconciliation activities to ensure reporting accuracy against source data and legacy system outputs. - Lead testing cycles (unit, system, and user acceptance testing) for reporting deliverables and troubleshoot issues through to resolution. - Guide customers on institutional and government/regulatory reporting requirements relevant to the Australian higher education sector. - Mentor and provide functional guidance to Functional Consultants and Associate Consultants on reporting design within the engagement. - Document reporting specifications, data lineage, and support materials for customer and internal reference. - Stay current on new Workday reporting features and Student release updates, and help evolve internal reporting methodology and reusable report libraries for the APAC region. About You Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of experience building reports and analytics within Workday, or a comparable Student Information System (SIS)/enterprise platform, with exposure to Student, Financials, or HCM domains. - 3+ years of consulting experience leading customer-facing workstreams on complex, enterprise-scale implementations. Other Qualifications - Demonstrated experience with report design tools such as calculated fields, custom reports, and dashboards/discovery boards. - Experience with Workday Student reporting specifically (admissions, academic records, curriculum, student financials) strongly preferred. - Workday Pro certification in Reporting preferred. - Familiarity with Australian higher education regulatory and government reporting requirements is a plus. - Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear reporting solutions. - Excellent communication skills, able to explain reporting logic and design trade-offs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. - Experience mentoring junior consultants and leading workstreams with minimal oversight. - Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. - Based in Australia, with willingness to travel to customer sites across APAC as needed. Our Approach to Flexible Work With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
