Job Description: Platform Integration Engineering Specialist, Sumaré/SP Collaborate with Innovative 3Mers Around the World 3M is seeking a Platform Integration Engineering Specialist to join the Corporate Research Digital Platforms (CRDP) team and help expand the capabilities of OnePlace, 3M's enterprise R&D data and AI platform. This role supports the OnePlace roadmap by designing, developing, and integrating user-facing platform capabilities, reusable services, data-product experiences, AI-enabled solutions, workflow-driven applications, and scientific tools that accelerate digital research and innovation. Working across Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Governance, Operations, Product, and Customer Success teams, this role helps transform core platform capabilities into scalable experiences that enable researchers, engineers, and product teams to discover, access, govern, and utilize enterprise data, workflows, AI capabilities, and digital services. The Impact You’ll Make in this Role Expand the OnePlace platform ecosystem by connecting users with data, workflows, AI services, scientific applications, metadata, and knowledge resources. Deliver scalable platform services and user experiences that improve discoverability, usability, automation, integration, and adoption across the R&D enterprise. Support future AI, agentic, and knowledge-driven capabilities aligned with the OnePlace roadmap. Design and build user-facing applications and platform experiences that enable access to data, workflows, AI services, and knowledge assets. Develop reusable platform components, APIs, services, and self-service capabilities across divisions, products, and scientific domains. Build and maintain integrations between platform services, data products, workflow platforms, metadata systems, AI capabilities, and external applications. Create search, discovery, knowledge graph, and AI-powered experiences that improve access to scientific assets, metadata, workflows, and knowledge resources. Develop workflow-driven applications and scientific tools that automate research, data management, governance, and operational processes. Translate business, scientific, and technical requirements into scalable platform solutions. Contribute to architecture discussions, solution design reviews, integration strategies, and platform standards. Promote best practices in software engineering, API development, integration design, security, maintainability, observability, and operational readiness. Partner across Platform Engineering, Data Engineering, Governance, Operations, Product, and Customer Success teams to deliver reliable and scalable capabilities. Evaluate emerging technologies that can strengthen platform capabilities and improve user value. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related technical field. Experience in software engineering, platform engineering, application development, systems integration, data platform engineering, or related technical roles. Experience with Databricks, AWS, Power BI, DataHub, Snowflake, or similar enterprise platforms. Experience building applications, APIs, integrations, or reusable platform services in cloud-based environments. Experience developing solutions that integrate multiple enterprise systems and services. Experience working with enterprise data platforms, analytics platforms, workflow systems, or digital products. Experience designing and implementing scalable software solutions. Experience gathering and translating technical and business requirements into delivered solutions. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and technical communication skills. Ability to work effectively across technical and business teams. Advanced proficiency in English. Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include: Experience developing applications using Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, React or similar technologies. Experience building APIs, microservices, event-driven integrations, or service-oriented architectures. Experience with workflow orchestration platforms such as Temporal, Airflow, Step Functions, or similar technologies. Familiarity with AI, machine learning, large language models, agent frameworks, or intelligent automation solutions. Experience developing search, metadata, knowledge management, or knowledge graph solutions. Experience supporting scientific, engineering, or research-driven organizations. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and modern software delivery approaches. Familiarity with application observability, monitoring, and operational readiness practices. Strong stakeholder engagement, solution-design, and collaboration skills. Demonstrated passion for building reusable digital capabilities that accelerate research, innovation, and data-driven decision making.
