Job Description: Provide technical support for process engineering in the Etch/Strip area of a specialized semiconductor manufacturing facility. Support the fab to ensure lot/product related items are known and Production has equipment qualified and ready when needed. This includes support of production, EES, and process engineering. Job Responsibilities Respond to Statistical Process Control (SPC) failures related to equipment qualification, process, or lot measurements. Analyze data on SPC violations to determine and correct root cause. Make decisions on production holds to disposition lots in a timely manner. Identification of process excursions; containment, evaluation, and disposition of material in the event of an excursion. Provide accurate and thorough passdown of equipment, process, and lot status to upcoming shift. Troubleshoot out of control tool and product issues. Initiate, perform, and implement corrective action towards resolving process and equipment problems. Write and/or modify operating specifications. Write reports to assist in the recommendation of process or equipment changes. Work with engineers to generate OCAP (Out of Control Action Plan) documents. Generate and document new and edited recipes. Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data. Work side by side with engineering to develop and execute experiments as required for product transfers, process development, and continuous improvement actions. Help area achieve goals related to safety, quality, cost, and output. Understand the policies and procedures of the area and the equipment and be able to mentor and monitor these practices. Certify and assist in training production operators. Operate production equipment as required. Perform daily routine checks and qualifications on equipment. Perform designated machine calibrations. Perform tasks as directed by engineers. Document activities real-time as they occur. Shift: Front Days (A), every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, every other Wednesday 7am-7:12pm Requirements/Qualifications: Preferred skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and articles. Ability to effectively present information to management and employees. Ability to write correspondence that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistics, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry, and algebra. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distributions, determination of data validity, analysis of variance, and correlation techniques. Ability to define problems/issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Experience conducting experiments. Knowledge of and experience in Etch or Strip. Knowledge of metrology tool usage for thickness, step height, and particles. Capable of using scanning electron microscope and interpreting the images. Ability to feedback observations to peers clearly and efficiently. Ability to execute numerous tasks successfully in a high-paced production environment Ability to write documentation and specifications Strong computer skills and ability to use spreadsheets Ability to troubleshoot problem product lots by review and understanding of the process flows and process interactions Basic comprehension of SPC theory, practice, and implementation Ability to define problems/issues, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Must be able to work in a clean room environment Education Associate of Science degree or higher desired. Work related experience can be substituted for education. High School Diploma or GED required. Experience Two or more years work in a semiconductor manufacturing environment is desired, especially in the Etch and Strip process areas.
