This position reports to: EL Commercial Operations Manager __ Your role and responsibilities: ABB is seeking an HR Business Partner for the Electrification Smart Power Division ("ELSP" or "SP")! The role is split between two Smart Power organizations: The Agile Organization based in US and a cross-division Commercial Operations function. Specifically, this role will provide strategic and operational HR expertise and guidance in the areas of HR & business strategy, culture change, organization design, leadership coaching, succession/pipeline planning, talent assessment/engagement. You will establish credibility as a strategic partner, playing a consultative role to employees, managers, and leaders to manage growth. This position reports dually to business and HR leaders. This position is open to remote applicants located within the US with the ability to travel as needed to support the business. #LI-Remote You will be mainly accountable for: Client Group Support: This position directly supports the SP-hosted Commercial Operations team, which provides sales enablement and support across 3 divisions: ELSP/ELSB/ELDS. This position will also support the Agile Organization people based in US: in particular the NAM Construction & Infrastructure Agile Unit, supporting the Chapter Leads which have teams located in US. The biggest part of this organization is based in Bloomfield, CT. And also supporting Chapter Leads of other Agile Units like Enabler, Distribution & Energy management, Industry & Control , with a strong partnership with the global HRBP of those Agile Units. This position will directly support sales, including a strong understanding of the people implications of a commercial organization including: go-to-market strategies. Facilitate performance management process; when necessary conduct investigations, conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching within client group. HR Consultation: Providing expertise and guidance in all areas of organization support, including: Strategic HR partnership with the Business Leaders and his/her direct reports to develop and execute both long-term and short-term HR strategies that directly support and enable business objectives. Serve as the first point of contact for employees & managers and provide leadership, coaching and support for individual employee needs & HR processes, including consulting on sales incentive plans. Provide timely, effective and direct coaching to client group people leaders, assisting in the development of world class, contemporary leadership skills. Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive & diverse work environment; act as an employee advocate; help drive various business initiatives. HR Systems & Project Management: This role includes hands-on HR systems transactions, audit & reporting, ultimately with a focus on strategically leveraging data to drive insights & decisions. Note: ABB US is currently migrating multiple HRIS systems to Workday – initial scope will include focus on system migration. Lead and manage HR projects & initiatives; provide outstanding customer service to client groups including HR. Lead HR processes including but not limited to: annual Performance Development Appraisal (PDA), People Review Session (PRS), annual salary review, etc. ELSP Career Pilot: Learn, understand and manage the ELSP Career Pilot framework and process and be able to support the change in US. Required Qualifications for the role: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Psychology, Business or related field from an accredited university or college; Master's degree preferred. Minimum of 12 years of progressive HR business partnership experience Solid knowledge of US employment law Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner and ability to gather and analyze information objectively and skillfully Strong planning and organizational skills Strong judgment, decision making and influencing skills. Intermediate to advanced skill set in Microsoft office applications. Candidates must already possess authorization to work for ABB in the US. While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $119,000 and $190,400 annually and is eligible for a short-term incentive plan/annual bonus.
