Position Responsibilities Collaborate and liaise with external partners (e.g., key opinion leaders), and contribute directly to diligence-related conversations with target company scientific/clinical contacts, working alongside senior BD leads Seek out and enact best practices with instruction Provide regular and timely updates to manager/management as requested Conduct literature review, including competitive landscape research, to inform asset valuation and trial design benchmarking on prospective deals in partnership with senior BD team members Contribute to developing the clinical development plan spanning early to late development and present these to governance committee and development team meetings as required Lead review of clinical trial design elements (endpoints, statistical assumptions, enrollment criteria) of target assets and precedent/competitor trials, in partnership with senior BD team members, to inform feasibility and valuation assumptions Partner with senior BD team members to build trial design and feasibility benchmarking materials (sample size, enrollment assumptions, country selection) for asset valuation and deal feasibility assessments Contribute clinical input to diligence packages in coordination with senior BD leads Collaborate cross-functionally with Biostatistics, Regulatory, Commercial, and Medical Affairs to inform clinical development and diligence assessments Maintain working knowledge of key cardiovascular therapeutic areas (e.g., lipid management, coronary artery disease, stroke, and heart failure) relevant to portfolio and pipeline assessment May provide guidance to associate or junior clinical scientists on assigned initiatives Degree Requirements Degree in Life Sciences (MD, PhD, Pharm D, MS, RN or other scientific field preferred). Five to seven years industry experience preferred. MBA or business/finance coursework a plus but not required. Experience Requirements Intermediate knowledge of GCP/ICH, drug development process, study design, statistics, clinical operations Intermediate knowledge and skills to support program-specific data review and trend identification, as well as deal-specific competitive trend identification Intermediate medical writing skills and medical terminology, applied to diligence memos/deal narratives Intermediate planning/project management skills (develop short range plans that are realistic and effective across both clinical development program and deal timelines) Key Competency Requirements Intermediate knowledge of disease area and current clinical landscape Intermediate knowledge of the establishment and operation of data monitoring committees, dose review teams, and independent response adjudication committees Basic knowledge of deal structuring norms (upfront/milestone/royalty structures) and asset valuation frameworks (NPV/eNPV, PTRS); training provided, not required at entry Intermediate to advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills Adaptable / flexible (willing and able to adjust to multiple demands and shifting priorities across clinical and BD workstreams; ability to meet day-to-day challenges with confidence and professionalism) Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint and data review tools (e.g., report generating tools) We hire for skills and capabilities, not just credentials – if this role excites you, but doesn’t perfectly match your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway.
