We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. Air Liquide is seeking a qualified Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Technician to join our team at the LH2 Production Facility. The I&E Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing all plant instrumentation, electrical distribution equipment, process gas analyzers, and control systems. This role is vital to maintaining safe, reliable, and continuous cryogenic operations while optimizing process efficiency and product purity.At Air Liquide we RESPECT, HONOR and VALUE diversity. Job Responsibilities: Calibrate and maintain instrumentation on production plants, gas delivery systems, and liquid bulk systems Maintain and repair PLC’s, computers equipment, single loop controllers and operator interfaces Repair instrumentation as identified in work requests in the computerized maintenance management system. Tune P&ID control loops Calibrate and maintain plant instrumentation (transmitters, valves, switches). Complete PM’s as required in computerized maintenance management system. Document work performed in a computerized maintenance management system. Troubleshoot plant control system issues. Assist in solving control system problems and installing new control systems. Assist with design of instrumentation related controls. Maintain spare parts inventory for instrumentation and control systems. Write standard work orders in the computerized maintenance management system. Log instrumentation and controls activities that affect plant operations in the operations log books. Maintain test equipment calibration & associated records. Maintain all I&E equipment records in both the CMMS & written form. Direct and work closely with contractors, monitor and direct contractor work quality. Rack in/out breakers & switchgear as necessary. Report safety incidents and near misses to maintenance & plant managers Perform job functions in a manner that meets or exceeds the company’s HSE standards Offers suggestions to improve system and procedure efficiency and quality Ability to be on call and respond to plant sites within two hours as required when on call, and available by phone and able to reasonably support when not on duty All other duties based on business needs Report safety incidents and near misses to maintenance & plant managers Perform job functions in a manner that meets or exceeds the company’s HSE standards Offers suggestions to improve system and procedure efficiency and quality Ability to be on call and respond to plant sites within two hours as required when on call, and available by phone and able to reasonably support when not on duty All other duties based on business needs ____________________Are you a MATCH? Required Qualifications: Proven experience in industrial instrumentation and electrical maintenance. Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues. Demonstrated understanding of Asset Management principles and practices. Familiarity with Quality Management systems and their application in an industrial setting. Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with I&E equipment and operations. Knowledge of Organizational Behavior principles to foster effective teamwork and communication. Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, including electrical schematics and P&IDs. Strong commitment to safety and environmental compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Relevant technical certifications or associate's degree in instrumentation, electrical technology, or a related field preferred. 5 years I&E experience required, Industrial Gas plant environment preferred Knowledge of the use of a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) On-call availability required High school diploma or equivalent required, 2 year technical degree preferred Familiarity with pneumatic & electronic controls, DCS systems, analyzers, transmitters and valves Physical Requirements: Must be able to wear required PPE safety equipment including, hardhat, safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, and FRC clothing Full range of motion; ability to lift 50 lbs.
