As a Clinical Mako Support Specialist, you will become a trusted clinical partner to surgeons and operating room teams, supporting robotic-assisted joint replacement procedures from pre-operative planning through surgery. This role offers extensive training, hands-on exposure to advanced healthcare technology, and the opportunity to make a direct impact on patient care every day. Note: this is an 11.5-month maternity leave cover position with comprehensive training and the opportunity to gain experience supporting one of the most advanced robotic-assisted surgical platforms in orthopedic healthcare. Get to know Mako Learn more about what a Mako Product Specialist does at Stryker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UbSzewU_YdY Learn more about the Mako robot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-hSfOKrAZI What You Will Do • Support surgeons, nurses, and operating room teams during robotic-assisted hip, knee, and partial knee replacement procedures within the assigned territory. • Prepare and review patient-specific pre-operative CT-based surgical plans, including creation of 3D anatomical models and implant planning recommendations. • Collaborate with surgeons to review and finalize surgical plans before procedures. • Set up, test, and support robotic surgical equipment before and during procedures to ensure operational readiness. • Deliver clinical and technical training on robotic-assisted surgical technology to healthcare professionals. • Troubleshoot equipment and workflow issues during clinical cases and coordinate timely resolution of product-related challenges. • Document clinical cases, maintain inventory records, manage purchase order activities, and support territory operations. • Collect customer feedback and communicate insights to product development and engineering teams to support continuous improvement initiatives. What You Will Need Required Qualifications • Fluency in Swedish and English. • Valid driver's license. • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory, including occasional overnight stays. • Ability to work within a hospital operating room environment and support surgical procedures. • Ability to successfully complete a comprehensive 3-6 month certification program delivered in English. Preferred Qualifications • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biomechanical Engineering, Medical Technology, Health Sciences, Nursing, Physiotherapy, or a related field. • Minimum 1 year of experience in a clinical, healthcare, hospital, medical technology, or medical device environment. • Minimum 1 year of experience supporting operating room procedures, orthopedic surgery, clinical applications, or healthcare technology solutions. Additional Information • Field-based position primarily supporting customers in the Lindesberg, Arboga, and Västerås areas of Örebro County. • Candidates should ideally reside within approximately 45 minutes of the assigned territory. • Approximately 90% travel within the territory. • Typical working hours are aligned to scheduled surgical procedures, with hospital-based activities often beginning between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m. • Comprehensive onboarding and certification program includes online learning, classroom training, clinical observations, and hands-on procedural support. To become a certified MAKO Product Specialist, you will complete a 6-month product training in English including co-travelling, surgery’s observation in the operating room and a final exam.
