Job Description: An opportunity for a Methods & Tools Software Developer Engineer has arisen within Airbus Defence and Space, Getafe (Madrid). The selected candidate will join the Data Processing and Analysis Development group within the Ground Station Team, as part of the Flight and Integration Test Centre. You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and maintaining the software ecosystem used by Test and System Specialists to perform data analysis across key Airbus Defence & Space programs (including A330 MRTT, A400M, C295, Eurofighter, SIRTAP, and Eurodrone). In this role, you will act as a bridge between the Analysis Community in Spain and the Ground Station team, offering direct technical support across diverse domains such as Avionics, Mission, Performance, Handling Qualities, Powerplant, General Systems, Aerial Delivery, and Datalinks. RESPONSIBILITIES Design, implement, and maintain software tools used by Test Centre Analysis Teams to process and analyze test data. Collaborate closely with specialized Test Analysis groups to translate complex mathematical models into functional, efficient software tools. Shape the future technology stack for Analysis Tools by guiding the migration and integration of the current toolset into the new Time Series Analysis Tool Platform for Military (TSASM). Act as the main technical point of contact between the Ground Station Team and the Spanish Analysis Community, facilitating constant communication and specialized tool support. We are looking forward to know you: Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on scientific computing. Technical knowledge:Strong programming knowledge of MATLAB for scientific applications. Proficiency in Python and its core data analysis libraries (NumPy, Pandas, SciPy, Matplotlib, and Jupyter ecosystem). Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Git mandatory, Jenkins and Nexus desirable) and Agile methodologies (Jira, Confluence). Deep interest in scientific programming with the ability to implement mathematical equations into efficient code. Languages: Advanced level in English (both written & spoken); Spanish capability is desirable for local team coordination. Soft skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate complex software concepts to non-software engineers and vice versa. Valuable / Nice to have: Experience with compiled languages (Fortran 77/90, C++) or willingness to learn them, as well as familiarity with Python libraries like SimPy and Numba.
