This position reports to: R&D Team Lead __ Key responsibilities The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid You will be mainly accountable for: Supporting hardware development activities for embedded electronics, PLCs, and industrial automation products. Conducting research on electronic components, emerging technologies, and market trends to support development projects. Building, testing, and evaluating small hardware circuits and prototypes for concept validation and feasibility studies. Assisting hardware engineers with data analysis, troubleshooting, and technical investigations. Supporting the creation and maintenance of hardware development documentation, including product and process documentation. Exploring and evaluating CAD tools used for schematic capture and PCB layout design and supporting their effective application within the hardware development process. Exploring and evaluating innovative engineering methods and tools, including the application of AI in hardware development. Qualifications for the role Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field with preferably two years of completed university studies. Initial hands-on experience through university projects, laboratories, internships, or personal engineering projects is desirable. Strong interest in embedded electronics and hardware development as well as embedded hardware design and electronic circuit development. Solid understanding of the fundamentals of electrical engineering and electronics. Basic knowledge of electronic measurements, circuit testing, and debugging is an advantage. Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout design as well as PLC and industrial automation products is considered a plus. Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English and German. Strong motivation to learn new technologies and engineering methods. Open-mindedness, curiosity, and willingness to explore innovative approaches and tools. Good communication skills and openness to constructive feedback and collaboration. Strong team player with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment. Structured and analytical way of working. Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working independently after appropriate guidance. Availability to support the team for up to 20 hours per week during the semester.
