A new and exciting role has arisen within the Wing Industrial Architect team (OMWN), where the mission is to co-architect our next products and pioneer the industrial systems of the future. Your core objective as an Industrial Architect will be to integrate inputs from multiple stakeholders to deliver an optimized Industrial System concept that achieves the best balance of top project objectives for both industrial and aircraft performance. This includes delivering the plan to verify and validate this concept, alongside cascading all associated requirements for the detailed Industrial System definition—work that is directly applicable to all new Aircraft Projects and Programmes, including derivatives and major modifications of existing aircraft. You will be joining a rich and diverse transnational team of over 30 people working collaboratively across the UK, Spain, and Germany. Focusing heavily on the future, our team is actively involved in the industrial scoping for many new wing options, driving exciting programmes that represent a major technological leap compared to conventional wing designs and industrial systems. In this environment of continuous learning and growth, you will play a key part in helping us lead the way on the industrial concepts needed for a sustainable future for flight. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM Support one or more new Wing programmes, focusing heavily on industrial readiness for the launch and ramp-up of future programmes. Support Value Stream Analysis and Mapping for new industrial set-ups, and perform rate capacity analysis using concepts like Takt Time, Cycle Time, Lead Time, and OEE. Support Lean Line Design deployment by applying lean principles and methodologies for industrialization phases, alongside supporting Industrial Performance Assessments. Support the maturation of Industrial Ramp-up Simulation tools and assist in potential Digital Tools Deployment under the Digital Factory scope (e.g., Virtual Reality, 3DExperience, Digital Twins). Gain experience across Wing components by utilizing technical, leadership, and project management skills, while showing energy to build relationships and network within the community. ABOUT YOU: Strong knowledge and experience in metallic manufacturing processes and elementary part manufacturing, including traditional and cutting-edge technologies (e.g., additive methods). Interest in finding creative solutions to complex problems and the ability to make decisions based on evidence. Following experience would be a plus: Experience working with suppliers or research partners. Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing. Background in Industry 4.0 Not a 100% match? No worries!
