Job Description SummaryAs a Service - Field Service Engineer (FSE) – Multi-Modality Imaging (MRI / CT / XR / Ultrasound) – Limerick, Ireland at GE HealthCare, you will play a key role in supporting healthcare providers across Ireland by ensuring the reliable operation of our advanced medical imaging technologies. Working directly at customer sites, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair a broad portfolio of diagnostic imaging systems, helping clinicians deliver exceptional patient care. In this customer-facing role, you will build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals, provide technical expertise, and ensure that GE HealthCare equipment consistently performs at its best. Your work will have a direct impact on patient outcomes, customer satisfaction, and the success of our service organization. Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities Install, commission, upgrade, and decommission GE HealthCare imaging systems, including MRI, CT, X-Ray, and Ultrasound equipment. Perform preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and operational performance. Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, electrical, and networking issues using advanced diagnostic tools and service documentation. Carry out repairs, calibrations, modifications, and software updates in accordance with quality and safety standards. Provide technical guidance and user support to clinical and biomedical engineering teams. Accurately document service activities, maintenance records, and technical findings in the designated service management systems. Manage spare parts inventory and ensure timely availability of critical components. Maintain compliance with all company policies, quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements. Build strong customer relationships through professional communication and proactive issue resolution. Participate in an on-call rotation to support urgent customer needs when required. Continuously develop your technical expertise through training and ongoing learning opportunities. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent technical experience. Previous experience servicing complex medical imaging systems or other advanced electro-mechanical equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair complex systems. Understanding of networking concepts and healthcare IT environments, including DICOM and PACS. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills. Ability to work independently and effectively manage a field-based workload. Proficiency with technical documentation, diagnostic software, and service tools. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the assigned territory. Ability to occasionally lift and move equipment as required. Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting MRI, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, or other diagnostic imaging modalities. Familiarity with GE HealthCare products and technologies.
