The Impact You’ll Make in this Role The person hired for the position of Plant Engineering Supervisor will provide supervision and direction to maintenance technicians, performing maintenance tasks on machines, systems, and facilities to maximize reliability and efficiency of operations. Supervising and providing technical guidance to Plant Engineering personnel performing maintenance on machines, systems, and facilities to improve equipment reliability, eliminate chronic equipment losses, and maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness. Shifting maintenance practices from reactive response to proactive and predictive strategies by using root cause analysis, precision maintenance best practices, maintenance history, and cross-functional input to identify and eliminate the systemic causes of recurring failures, reduce downtime, improve asset performance, and ensure problems are permanently improved rather than repeatedly repaired. Building future-ready team capabilities in areas such as technical skills, CMMS utilization, reliability practices, data-driven decision-making, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, while fostering a culture that challenges the status quo and seeks sustainable improvements over temporary fixes. Scheduling, assigning, and directing maintenance work while monitoring progress, confirming proper procedures, evaluating quality of work, and supporting structured problem-solving that drives corrective, preventive, and improvement actions. Supporting Plant Engineering priorities and site initiatives, which may include oversight of support functions such as custodial, buildings and grounds, stockroom, specialty maintenance parts procurement, alternative shift coverage, on-call support, and flexible schedules to support 24/7 operations while identifying opportunities to improve asset reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and operational excellence across the site. Your Skills and Expertise To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution and Seven (7) years of manufacturing maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment OR Associate's degree (completed and verified prior to start) and Five (5) years of manufacturing maintenance experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
