This position reports to: EL Technical & Design Promotion Manager __ Your role and responsibilities As part of the ABB Smart Buildings and Smart Power divisions, the Segment Lead role is a strategic and technical leadership position responsible for driving growth and market presence of Low Voltage (LV) component solutions within the Data Centre and the Defence infrastructure sector nationally. This role requires a combination of commercial acumen, technical expertise, and relationship management capabilities to position ABB as a trusted, innovative partner across these strategically important sectors. The work model for the role is: hybrid This role is contributing to the ABB Smart Buildings and Smart Power divisions in Australia. You will be mainly accountable for: Develop and execute ABB’s go-to-market strategy for the Data Centre and Defence sectors, identifying target segments, analysing market trends, and driving growth aligned to business objectives. Build and manage a high-quality sales pipeline through disciplined opportunity management, accurate forecasting, and strategic resource planning. Establish and strengthen relationships with key customers, developers, investors, consultants, contractors, and channel partners to position ABB as the preferred solutions provider and secure project opportunities. Collaborate across internal teams and industry stakeholders to deliver compliant, customer-focused solutions, strengthen ABB’s market presence, and enhance brand leadership within the Data Centre and Defence ecosystems. Qualifications for the role Deep knowledge of Low Voltage electrical systems and their application within Data Centre and Defence infrastructure environments. Demonstrated success in developing go-to-market strategies, driving business growth, and building sustainable revenue pipelines. Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing, and partnership-building skills across customers, partners, and internal teams. Commercially astute with the ability to balance short-term business objectives with long-term strategic market positioning. Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or Business, ideally complemented by postgraduate studies, with a strong understanding of market trends, competition, and emerging technologies. Current NSW driver's licence and unrestricted Australian work rights, with the ability to collaborate effectively across organisational boundaries.
