This position reports to: R&D Manager __ As an Electronics Design Engineer, you will contribute to the development of control electronics for ABB frequency converters, helping bring new products from concept to production. Working as part of our R&D organization, you'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design, test, and improve electronics solutions that support reliable and high-performing products. This is a great opportunity for an engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with hands-on development work. Depending on your experience and strengths, you'll take ownership of different parts of the design process while contributing to innovative product development projects. You will be mainly accountable for: Designing and developing electronics circuits and systems for frequency converters, from concept through validation and production release. Testing, verifying, and documenting the functionality, performance, and reliability of developed solutions. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners, including layout design and specialized testing providers when needed. Contributing to system-level design activities and supporting product integration and testing. Identifying technical challenges, proposing solutions, and supporting continuous improvement of products and development practices. Ensuring designs meet quality, safety, reliability, and project requirements. Qualifications for the role Hold a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Have experience in printed circuit board (PCB) design and analog and digital electronics design. Are familiar with electronics simulation and design tools and enjoy solving technical challenges. Communicate confidently in English. Experience in power supply design, frequency converter technologies, or functional safety circuits would be considered an advantage. More about us We care.
