About the job: The candidate will work in the Global Markets Division within the US Investment Grade and LatAm Debt Syndicate team. The main focus of the new hire will be to help lead the origination, coverage and execution of financial institution, asset manager and insurance company new issuance for US, Yankee and Latin American issuers. The objective will be to help identify new clients and broaden/strengthen existing relationships as they look to understand and gain access to the financial markets in a broad array of products. Candidate needs to be well versed across all financial products and markets, lengthy execution experience and strong issuer and investor relationships in the US and Europe. Will interact as required with DCM, sales and trading, compliance, legal and derivatives and back office professionals globally. DCM experience strongly preferred as the role is a hybrid of both Syndicate and DCM teams. The US Investment Grade and LatAm Debt Syndicate acts as the go-between the secondary market and the primary market, taking inputs from the investor base and translating that into recommendations for BBVA’s global issuer clients and then formally executing primary new issuance for corporates, financial institutions, supranational, sovereigns both domestically as well as internationally. The group works closely with banking, DCM, sales & trading teams to recommend and execute transactions for the bank’s clients globally. The employee will be responsible for the following tasks: · Growing, developing and maintaining direct relationships with the financial institutions globally in partnership with bankers and DCM · Drive the preparation of marketing materials and documents · Leadership & Communication skills – Strong leadership and communication skills needed. Communicates what is relevant and important in a clear and concise manner, shares information and new ideas with others. Inspires and motivates internally and externally · Teamwork – Is a strong team player, collaborates with others within and across teams, encourages other team members to participate and contribute and acknowledges others’ contributions · Drive and Initiative – Need examples of ability to build a business and/or win a deal that required rallying a team and creating something out of nothing. · FINRA series 7, 63 and 79 licenses are required. Manager can allow a contingency period to obtain licenses at their discretion. With respect to this position in our New York Office, the expected base salary ranges from $220,000 to $270,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
