We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate Scientist with expertise in Bio-Analytical Chemistry to join the BioProcess Analytics team in Framingham, MA. As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will join a multidisciplinary team providing analytical support for Sanofi's R&D pipeline. You will contribute to early- and late-stage bioprocess development through analytical method development, optimization, troubleshooting, and routine testing to support R&D programs to meet project goals within established timelines. Main Responsibilities: Provide analytical support for Process Science, R&D, Manufacturing, and cross-functional partners by independently executing routine and advanced analytical testing using HPLC/UPLC, CE, cIEF, ELISA, binding assays, impurity analysis, and LC-MS/MS peptide mapping in a non-GMP environment to advance biologics development programs and achieve project milestones. Assist in evaluating and developing new cutting-edge technologies, instruments, and analytical methods in separation science to streamline and improve the efficiency of assay workflows and solve problems encountered during drug development. Advance laboratory automation by developing and applying tools for sample preparation and analytical testing workflows. Assess and implement AI/GenAI-enabled solutions to improve data processing, visualization, and decision-making within Bioprocess Analytics. Assist and/or lead the establishment of technical methods for analytical and characterization purposes, and author protocols, technical memos and reports, data analysis summaries, process investigations, and procedures in a non-GMP setting. Maintain laboratory operations, including instrumentation, reagents, consumables, and analytical workspaces to ensure operational readiness. Manage multiple projects with minimal supervision, including planning, execution, troubleshooting, data interpretation, and timely delivery of high-quality results. Communicate scientific findings effectively through technical reports, study protocols, presentations, and data-driven recommendations to cross-functional stakeholders. Build strong cross-functional partnerships and collaborate effectively across multiple programs to drive scientific and business objectives. About you: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related fields (Analytical Chemistry preferred) with 2+ years of relevant experience, OR Master’s degree with 1+ years of relevant experience in research laboratory and relevant industry experience. Experience & Technical Skills: Hand-on experience with one or more separation science techniques for protein characterization, including CE, cIEF, UPLC/HPLC, and LC-MS. Proficiency with one or more data processing software such as analytical software like Empower, OpenLAB, Chromeleon, 32karat, and Compass. Demonstrated ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects across varied analytical testing platforms. Soft Skills: Highly organized and detail-oriented professional with a proven ability to independently manage multiple concurrent projects across diverse analytical platforms while effectively prioritizing tasks and delivering results in fast-paced environments. Preferred Qualifications: Strong expertise in protein characterization, including purity, charge variant, and glycan analyses, with extensive hands-on experience in operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Waters and Agilent HPLC/UHPLC systems, Caliper LabChips, PA800 Plus, Maurice/iCE, and BioPhase 8800 platforms. Experience leveraging AI and Generative AI technologies to streamline data analysis, improve visualization capabilities, and enable informed decision-making across Bioprocess Analytics workflows. Proficient in the operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of automated high-throughput laboratory systems, including Agilent Bravo and Hamilton liquid handling platforms, to enhance workflow efficiency and analytical productivity. Prior experience executing assays in a GLP/GxP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting. Experience iLab Electronic Lab Notebook or other Electronic Lab Notebook solution. Why choose us?
