This position reports to: Support Services Manager __ We are looking for a reinforcement to the newly opened Trade Compliance support position in the European Operations Center in Ostrava. Trade Compliance support function (TCSF) will provide support mainly to foreign LDs Trade team by classifying products, software, and technology (ABB and third-party products) that ABB LDs export or imports with respect to CZ, EU and/or US export controls (dual-use and military) and EU customs (Harmonized System) lists. More on: https://new.abb.com/cz/o-nas/technologie-inovace/operacni-centrum-evropa Your main accountabilities: To provide support regarding classification of goods, preferably well on time before export, import and/or shipment, but also when goods need to be declared with customs on short notice and/or are under inspection of the customs authorities. Review of the ECN/ECCN and HTS classifications with the CZ LD Trade team, update master data in SAP GTS with ECN/ECCN and HTS classification as required. Support regular analysis of the goods to be delivered during the coming months, identification and classification of products, software and/or technologies, especially in case of critical regulatory development in collaboration with CZ LD Trade team. Act as a trusted advisor on international trade matters, leveraging expertise in import/export processes, customs regulations and indirect tax considerations to support business decision-making and ensure regulatory compliance. Sanctions and embargo screening when requested (back-up support). Continually maintain knowledge on export control and customs regulation with relevant internal and external training (where applicable), as well as E-Learnings on ABB Inside / ABB University and applicable internal instructions, guidelines, handbooks.
