Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:Manager EHS is responsible to support the Senior Manager EHS in implementing the site's EHS strategy, objectives, policies, standards, and corporate EHS initiatives. Major Responsibilities: Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Environment, Health & Safety management systems to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Coordinate and monitor occupational safety programs, including hazard identification, risk assessments, behavioral safety, and workplace inspections. Ensure effective implementation of Permit-to-Work systems, including Hot Work, Confined Space Entry, Work at Height, Excavation, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO). Implement and maintain fire safety and emergency preparedness programs, including fire prevention, emergency response, evacuation planning, and fire drills. Ensure inspection, testing, maintenance, and reliability of fire protection systems, including fire alarms, hydrants, fire pumps, sprinkler systems, and portable fire extinguishers. Support EHS requirements during capital projects, facility upgrades, equipment installations, and process modifications to ensure risks are effectively assessed and controlled. Provide EHS oversight for construction activities, shutdowns, maintenance turnarounds, and contractor-led projects. Conduct contractor safety onboarding, audits, inspections, and performance reviews to ensure compliance with site EHS requirements. Support environmental compliance programs related to waste management, wastewater treatment, emissions, hazardous materials management, and sustainability initiatives. Support machinery safety and machine guarding programs, including machine risk assessments, safeguarding reviews, interlock verification, emergency stop systems and other safety-critical controls. Support in investigations of injuries, near misses, unsafe conditions, property damage, environmental incidents, machinery incidents, and fire-related events. Conduct routine EHS inspections, audits, and compliance assessments, and track closure of identified findings. Coordinate EHS training and awareness programs for employees, contractors, supervisors, and managers. Monitor EHS performance indicators, maintain records, prepare reports, and provide performance updates to the Senior Manager EHS and site leadership. Support regulatory inspections, corporate audits, and external assessments, and ensure timely response to observations and findings. Education/Knowledge & Experience: Bachelor's/Master’s degree 8-10 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing environment. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, ISO 45001/14001 Lead Auditor, or equivalent preferred. Strong knowledge of occupational safety, machinery safety, fire safety, incident investigation, contractor management, construction and shutdown safety, environmental compliance, and EHS management systems. Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
